Mrmagic,, did you have bad withdrawal symptoms with chantix? I have two more days than the 8th day suppose to lay them down and never pick up,,, I have really cut back already as they are tasting pretty bad,, but also I was on bupropion sr for smoking about 1month before starting chantix,,, i stayed on bupropion and take it early morning, chantix mid, and same in evening,, seems to really be helping, but past few days i have had from 3 to 10 cig per day, which better than 2 packs,,, but wondering after the 8th day if symptoms get bad,,,,, know everyone different but symptoms lot alike

Hello shipmates hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'm finally finding a new normal and it's soooooooo nice to be smoke free. Our city is going smoke free April 1st and I was so glad to not feel stressed about that. Things are better every day, woohoo. Raine good job on 50 days! :) I have sure missed the Magic Ships chocolate and wine, that sounds so good. Keep up the good work people and we'll put another week SMOKEFREE behind us . Ky woman, I, too, am on Chantix, and when the day came, like our Capt, I just didn't smoke any more. I started on bupropion sr a week ago (I take it with the Chantix in the morning), mainly so I would stop eating everything including the kitchen sink. No problems so far. The craves are there occasionally, but not nearly as often as early on. It's nothing I can't handle with a little chocolate and a stress ball. If you really want to quit, you just have to quit. Have you gone through the steps in the tools? You really need a plan to cope with the rough times. You may second guess yourself for a few days, but if you read as much as you can on this site (old and new posts) you will be sure to find someone who is or has gone through exactly what you are going through at any given time. It's almost uncanny! Good luck, we'll be watching you! To all my shipmates, and with a tip o' the beanie to the Captain, good to see you again. Are we planning a green celebration on Saturday to show old Nick O'Demon who is in charge around here? Anybody got plans? Keep singin' and dancin' everyone! Good morning all, Glad to see everyone again! I really missed you guys! Look at those stats for all of us! We are fantastic, aren't we? Our fearless leaders have given us such good advice and mentoring! The weekend was great, Sweetheart and I celebrated St Pat's day in our usual style. That means I was pretty out of it on Sunday, except to go to the bathroom and get more aspirin. Oh my, and I thought the parties on the ship were a hoot!!! Nurse 29 and hubby are still non-smokers! Hurrah! They should be back online this week, so I'm sure they will check in. I find myself thinking less and less about smoking. No real desire even in the bar while drinking (way too much). I did have a craving at 3am when I woke up...but it went away pretty fast. It just isn't something that crosses my mind too often. I am still on my guard, and I still haven't really experienced the "freedom", as I said before THAT's when I will know I am a non- (or ex-) smoker. Well, y'all have a great Monday, enjoy your golf Capt. sir, wherever you are. Keep flashin'those stats ladies, we know Phil is watching. LOL! No wine for me today, but the chocolate sounds good! Follow Me ~ Uncle Kracker You don't know how you met me You don't know why You can't turn around and say goodbye All you know is when I'm with you I make you free And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea I'm singin' [CHORUS] Follow me everything is alright I'll be the one to tuck you in at night And if you Want to leave I can guarantee You won't find nobody else like me I'm not worried 'bout the ring you wear Cuz as long as no one knows than nobody can care You're feelin' guilty and I'm well aware But you don't look ashamed and baby I'm not scared I'm singin' [REPEAT CHORUS] Won't give you money I can't give you the sky You're better off if you don't ask why I'm not the reason that you go astray and We'll be all right if you don't ask me to stay [REPEAT CHORUS] You don't know how you met me You don't know why You can't turn around and say goodbye All you know is when I'm with you I make you free And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea I'm singin' [REPEAT CHORUS] ;p

Happy Monday everyone. I am home with a sick child so I get to escape to the ship early today. I have one thing to say. Ya Hoooooooo you go Ladycig. What an accomplishment to be smoke free and skinny. You certainly have bragging rights. And Congratulations on 50 smoke free days. You go girl, you go girl. JT dancing around in a circle with her hands in the air. And Raine, I do want to know your secret to no weight gain. We need to publish that. Hey Faith, have fun in Texas. Say hello to Denton and Dallas for me. We will miss you. And please don't hide the chocolate, we promise not to eat all of it. ;p Hi shipmates we need to throw a pary in KYgirl's city in April. I have never seen a smoke free city before. It sounds like our kind of place. Kygirl we are glad for you that you are ahead of the game. Well everyone have a wonderful week. Hello Shipmates, Ladycig I am finally going to flash my stats. Hey Faith we need your very impressive stats flashed as well. Sorry about the long absence. No I was not off smoking or even celebrating my two months. Unfortunately the work load continued on into last week. Several 16 hour days, but those thank goodness have come to an end. Yeah :) Now maybe so will the weight gain. Speaking of that, how is everyone's walking stats? I am at about 10 miles or is that 10 pounds. You know I will have to start putting on some oldies so we can start sweating. LOL While I was away we had some celebrating. Way to go shipmates. MomMom congrats on a month. You are doing super. It seems as though you have not skipped a beat. Raine and Capt. boy 50 days already under your belt. We are half way to the beach. I think we will all be there before we know it. Hey Lady your big day is tomorrow I believe. I hope you had a big celebration this weekend. I know how hard it is to treat yourself on a weeknight. Lynne, I hope you are staying warm in the snow. Maybe you can build a snowman. I think that would be a first on the cruise ship :) Well I am going to run and see if Faith has anymore chocolate. I think I will have just a few before I start back on my change in eating habits. :eg: Stay strong my friends and let's keep this ship a float until the Capt. gets back. Have a great Monday. Hi Kygirl...regarding the withdraw, I guess I can honestly say that when I got to my quit date, 7 days after starting the medicine, I woke up that Friday, got ready for work, and away I went, no smokes and nothing since. Yes, I had urges and cravings, mostly from the "habit" or activity of smoking, like after dinner, or a break at work, but I soon got over that by just telling myself I just don't smoke anymore, I just refuse to do it!! You are right, everyone is different, but the key for me is/was I wanted to quit, there is no doubt in your mind that you are doing the right thing. Good luck, keep going, don't stop, don't ever give in, you CAN do this....Mr.Magic My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 971 Amount Saved: $108 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 17 Mins: 8 Seconds: 20
