The Magic Ship- Board Here!

17 years ago 0 925 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
:p Holy Magic Cow People, look at all the activity since I was here last! ;p JT, MomMom, Rainie, I'm sorry if my post caused a little stir but it really did sneak up on me and gave your first mate quite a jolt! Ha, just when you think everything is hunky dory...wham...dose of the demon. Yes, I know it's just a dream but I think you all know how committed I am to my final quit and even dreaming of smoking is a reminder to me to keep it real. Hope you're all going to enjoy your weekends (we know MomMom will...so long as she remembers not to be throwing people overboard). Bristol this weeknend Wenches and Gents....pack lots of bail money...heard the ones dressed in blue are on the lookout for our kind of trouble. :eg: PHIL! You rascal you...for not pulling your magic weight mate. I didn't spank you, just asked where in the heck you were dancin these days? If anyone needs your email, they can IM you first, cause I might be gone for a few hours, days or weeks at any time with my new job and no smoking lifestyle of the almost rich and locally famous. Or, if it's not urgent they can IM or email me and I'll eventually be tracked down somehow, someway by someone. ***Aunt Deb. Welcome aboard! Such a pleasure to have you visit!*** :) :8|: :) I agree, we all need a healty dose of the truth now and then to keep things REAL. I've been sooooo fortunate in my quit so far that there's been very little for me to fess up about. Dreams I can live with and learn from and I knew my shipmates would know they're just dreams. I was told once that we use our dreams to work out problems in our everyday lives. All of my shipmates know that no matter how "easy" my quit has been...it's still a work in progress and no addict can ever get smober and stay smober without effort in one form or another. We do choose to do our work in a "fun" way though, as it makes our quit's so much nicer to contemplate this way. ***here Aunt Deb pull up a lounge chair by the pool, try on these special Magic-Rose colored glasses (you look so great in your string bikini by the way) and have some wine and chocolate*** Now that you know how to get here, don't be a stranger ok? CAPTAIN MrMagic!!! YIPPIE, you're back, the wenches were starting to get out of hand,

Good morning....shipmates. If you look real close you will see my "rose colored glasses" aren't they spiffy??? Aunt Deb, surely you misjudge our responses to M'lady as we were all laughin w/her as she woke up from her dream. Here on this ship we CHOOSE to look at quitting smoking with positive attitudes, humor, support, song, and acceptance. We have found this mindset to make our quits stronger and easier. So, maybe it is the wrong ship. Welcome back Capn! Glad you were struttn' your non-puffn self as you strolled the links! It is nice hearing/reading your words again. Phil got spanked! "You go M'lady"!!! I am so looking forward to tomorrow...my first day off with nothing to do in over a month. Hubby and daughter gone all day... Oh what is that that I see??? Rainie and her dog hangn' by the pool reading a book and soaking up some much need sun!!! No Smoking Allowed By The Pool!!!! Ta Ta my non smoking friends... This new life is just great! It is even better with my "glasses" on. The Captain is BACK!!! and missed all the wenches on board, and catching up on the messages it looks like a fun time was had by all while I was away, I wouldn't have expected less :P It was a great trip over to the Cumberland Plateau regions of TN (between Nashville and Knoxville). We played 2-18 hole rounds each day and I have to believe I wouldn't have made it if I was still smoking and hadn't started walking. 3 of the 6 rounds were "cart path only" meaning (for you non-golfers) you couldn't drive the cart up to the ball and of course The Captain managed to hit his tee shot to the opposite side of the fairway :). The focus was on golf for sure. Wake up, shower, go get breakfast, play 18, eat lunch, play 18 more, go eat dinner, go back to the condo and die. The weather was good for the most part, the afternoon round was on and off rain but playable. Not once did I crave a smoke or have an urge, even while enjoying the adult beverages, and there were a few...so I am taking the rest of the week off, will get some yard work done, and yes, since we are expecting mid 80's and sunshine, will probably play some golf LOL. As I recall, we are heading North on our way to Mexico. If you will all just hang in there, we will pick up some speed early next week and get over to Cabo San Lucus...stay strong, help those who need it, enjoy what's left of Spring Break, I must be off....The Captain My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,127 Amount Saved: $126 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 6 Mins: 27 Seconds: 25

What in the devil were you thinkn' Pat???? I was "Oh noooo she diint'"!!!! I bet you woke in a panic!!! Nance: I here by order you to print out your last post and take it with you as a reminder of what you are going to do when the urge comes creeping up on you. Please, please, please remember...these are just thoughts at this point. And just as you can think of smoking you can also think of something else. You can literally only think of one thing at a time... I can't wait til you get back so that we can hear all about "the one that got away"!!! Lady~ Thank you so much stopping in to check on this motley crew. It really boosts our hearts to know that an ole' timer like you cares enough to cheer us along! Speaking of ole timers....I don't think Phil is shy either... He just knows we get a kick out of his comments and keeps them few and far between. I believe he is doing the "lack of comment" thing on purpose! He wants all the chicks to beg for a philism!!! Are ya back yet captn'? "FOUR" Hoping you had a blast! Julie~ look at how many smokes you haven't had...you rock! Ta Ta my buddies!!! Momsquared- how are the kids doing with the move and getting settled? Tell nursiedaughter we miss her! Ok Pat, You successfully scared me too! I almost didn't want to read it...my first thought, Oh No, first Freemom, now our First Mate? Tell me it ain't so! I have had those dreams, several of 'em actually. I, too, woke up relieved that it was a dream. I choose to think of them as the reinforcement that I am doing the right thing. If I smoke in my dreams...so be it. I won't smoke when I am awake. It's the old Nic O'Demon gettin in his shots (and gettin back at me for St. Pattys day, no doubt). I'm glad it was only a dream. We know we are only one little puff away... Happy trails to those who are on the road again, and welcome back to those we have missed (like our Capt). By the way, WHERE IS PHIL? I don't think it's his shyness, maybe he's just embarrassed about the dancing????? Have a nice night, day, afternoon, spring, winter, birthday, whatever! Bristol on Sunday! :) :) Capt, Sir, can you play this song on your harmonica? (I can hear it in my mind's eye) :) ~by Willie Nelson~ If you would not have fallen Then I would not have found you Angel flying too close to the ground And I patched up your broken wings And hung around for a while Trying to keep your spirits up And your fever down And I knew someday that you would fly away For love's the greatest healer to be found So leave me if you need to I will still remember Angel flying too close to the ground Fly on, fly on Past the speed of sound I'd rather see you up Than see you down So leave me if you need to I will still remember Angel flying too close to the ground My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,076 Amount Saved: $169.75 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 22 Mins: 34 Seconds: 6

Ladycig-you scared the sh-- out of me. However, it was a great post. It does make you think. I ran into my first smoker while walking the dog tonight. I know after 9 weeks, you would think it would have happened before now. Well anyway, we talked for a few moments, I could tell she was trying to hide the cigarette. I once again thank the good Lord that I am now a nonsmoker. Well ladies let get this ship straightened up for the Capt. And Pat yes I will chaperone the shipmates in Bristol. Get the big screen ready because I will have some great pictures. Mom Mom have fun on the trip. Just think you do not have to keep a cig. count. You know where you make sure that you will not run out before you can get to the store. I am so thankful that those days are gone FOREVER. Have a great one everybody. And WELCOME BACK Captain. Lady...many apologies for scaring the daylights out of you (or anyone else who's reading). I was not trying to be funny (ok, maybe a little cute...sorry, can't change who I am even when I stop smoking lol)...I was actually trying to let myself and my shipmates know that we can never let down our guard. I ranted in private to some friends one day that if we ever get complacent in our quits, even 10 years in, that we could suddenly wake up to find the old nicodemon had slapped a lit ciggy in our mouth (I think I actually called it our pieholes, but that's just another silly expression I use he he he). Yes, it was just a dream thank goodness, but it showed me how serious this addiction can be sneaking up on me in my sleep like that! No, I don't smoke anymore, I have NO DESIRE TO and I will not forget that I am quit, not ever! Yes, it really, really stinks :gasp: and in my dream it burns my throat too! :gasp: Thank you for your concern...I luvs ya for it :) Pat oops...gotta run and get my boa out of the dryer :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,108 Amount Saved: $728 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 3 Mins: 44 Seconds: 52
