They're new....I'll just tell them that's how we welcome all newcomers to the neighborhood...an English gardener and then they'll have to think how to reciprocate....lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,328 Amount Saved: $224.4 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 13 Mins: 44 Seconds: 50

Aloha, If the neighbour starts complaining that there is a greenwaste pile in their garden, just tell em someone had rouge gardeners in and point the finger at the other next door neighbour :) Yes 'hanging in there' seems to be about right for me today. I'll bum a lift tonight and go to a Walmart equivalent and get the 21mg patches. The marvelous Phil is working as the logic centre of my brain at the moment, as mine seems to be missing for some reason! Kev If anybody finds my logic centre, please return it to SSC HQ. Hi Mike, Yes, they sell them over the counter here too. Its just getting to the shops that sell them thats the problem (being mr non-driver) and leaving work quite late normally. I'll take the bus to the city first thing saturday (as I am off this weekend) and purchase at least a months worth. Preparation? Oh it is so important. Wish I had thought of a backup substitute earlier. Having reset my counter once or twice already, I guess there would be no harm in doing it again. Kev, I'm so sorry to hear the mints are giving you trouble. Here in the US the patches are now over the counter. Sounds like they're not there? Wishing you the best as you figure out how to make this work for you. The statistician in me does NOT want to EVER have to reset that quit counter! If_desire_to_quit > or = to_previous_day then set FLAG1 = 'FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT' ;) Mike My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/11/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 263 Amount Saved: $45.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 3 Mins: 57 Seconds: 23

Hi Mike, glad to see you are still around. Sounds like you have had some busy times! Nice to see you doing sooo well. I'm proud of you. To be honest, i've been very close to relapsing this week. Not due to cravings but due to the fact that my gums are giving me severe aggro from all the nico-mints I have been sucking. It may still happen, it depends how quickly I can get some patches. If I do relapse then it will be a short one. My new plan is to alternate between patches and the mints, to allow my gums to recover instead of constantly getting bombarded. You're right about the addict stuff. I too am a heavy nico-addict and it has been good to not smoke. I'm still wondering what the exact boundaries are for a classified slip and relapse of course :) That'll be my programmer mind in play. If cig_per_day < 60 and days_smoking <4 then set FLAG1 = 'SLIP' if cig_per_day > 60 and days_smoking >7 then set FLAG1 = 'RELAPSE' I guess we will see today if I continue with the mints. Kind regards Kev My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 203 Amount Saved: 33.6 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 43 Seconds: 2

Hi Kev, Thanks for asking about me. I've been lurking recently for the most part as time allows because I had a full weekend spending time with my better half and also hanging out with my grandson on Saturday. Also, I've been kind of "blah" feeling mentally the last few days within myself. Not terrible, just not really "up". So I've been reading my current novel a lot and catching up on sleep, which is actually kind of luxurious, not really a negative thing. I suspect this is yet another phase of the quit process, so I'm just "going with the flow" for a few days and see how I feel then. I've had some itchin' here and there but I ain't scratchin' and that's the important thing! Less than 36 hours until I can celebrate 2 weeks tobacco free! Enough about me, sounds like you're going strong!! I'm very happy for you. I remember back to your first post. How you wrote you've been trying to quit for 2 years and all the aids you tried to help you. And now you're well on the way to a smoke free rest of your life! I know you, like me, were REALLY addicted to the cigs (I guess like just about all of us here). So what an amazing time for us that we are making true progress in finally being free of the damn things! You're yet another example and inspiration to me here, Kev, as I make this sometimes odd journey towards psychological independence from smoking. Thank you! Gen, I think I just missed you on IM by seconds. Was hoping to suprise you and say hi. Hope all is well. Actually, haven't seen Mike in a while. Hows the chantix quit going? I am beginning to hate mints (it's the reason why I asked if there were any minter's out there). But I am still here, just in case you were wondering. Just keeping track of all the new threads. Theres some really good 'old' posts to be discovered. Anyways, Pizza time. Hi Phil, no going back from here. The longer it gets the harder it is to relapse. I have a question to anyone can answer it. Is there anyone else on mints? I know tons are on patches, zyban, chantix, you name it. But I can't think of anyone who has said they are on mints.
