Thank you for your encouraging words. I often feel my problems will not go away, as I have had them most of my life since I was young. I had a few years when I first took medications which helped the social anxiety tremendously, however, I still felt depressed. I believe it is a combination of my personality type being in a minority, and inherited depression. However, I do really appreciate this site, even for the short time I've been using it. Thank you guys...

redface, I know exactly how you are feeling. I'm a bit like that today as well although I feel quite angry with life in general as well as depressed. Having this 'thing' has made me become basically a loner, all my old friends have moved on with their lives and I'm alone most of the time. Sometimes I wonder if there really is a way out of all of this, or if this is just all my life will ever consist of. I have my times of positivity and challenge myself but today I'm just sick to death of it. Just like Hopeful said, you fit in here just fine!!

I'm so sorry that you're feeling down and lonely today. I used to feel that way alot. I would feel isolated and left out. This has gotten alot better for me. I found that if I take a genuine interest in other people, it's much easier to connect with them. Now this comes much more naturally for me. Don't worry about "fitting in", just be a more caring "you". Do something nice for someone, just for the heck of it, listen to someone's problems, help someone else. Not only will you feel like you are a part of life and that you are making a contribution, someone else will benefit from your caring, too! Good luck ~ and you fit in here just fine!

I just wanted to connect with someone about how I am feeling today. It is not connected with any panic situation, I am just plain feeling blah. I don't know why except I am tired. Ok, that is not all together true; I am feeling lonely. I feel as if I don't have any friends, and wonder if I will ever meet people who think the way I do. I often spend time alone, because it is easier physically and socially. I was invited to a party today, but I didn't feel like going. I did not think I would fit in with anyone there. In fact, it is hard for me to fit in with anyone here also. Has anyone taken their myers briggs test? I am an INFP and wondered how many of us are having panic problems, and feeling alienated from the rest of society? I have learned that only 1-2% of people fall into this catagory, and many of us are highly imaginative, and may be prone to feeling lonely and isolated. How should I challenge these thoughts?
