Hi Bear, Sorry to hear you've been in a bad space lately. I know the VT shooting has impacted everyone in some way or another. I fear everyday when I send my daughter off to school and more so now after this. I could go on and on about this but that would require another site. You should take Josie's advise and start a new topic. The weather here has been a bummer as well. Cloudy, damp chilly and I ended up with strep throat and chest congestion so now I'm on antibiotics. Great way to celebrate 30 days huh? I hope you didn't celebrate my 30 too much!! You'll be there in 2 more days and I'm so proud of you!!! I tried to IM you the other day and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I'll try again this weekend. I hope everyone is doing well and Sunshine had great advise "don't forget to post when your in this state of mind" we are all in this together and I'm with Tutti on the promise to go through this day without smoking!!! I'm going to try to get some sleep. It's been a few days of tossing and turning trying to get rid of this fever hopefully with the antibiotics I can get some sleep. Take care and I'll talk to you soon!!:) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,183 Amount Saved: $363 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 5 Mins: 1 Seconds: 50

bear, Why not start a new thread and ask these questions? All quits are different and unique. Your experience may help someone along the way :) You can also use the "Forum for General Users" to start a new topic :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.

I see a lot on Coping with Withdrawel and Coping with Cravings but I don,t see anything on Coping with triggers and stressers. Did I miss something or is this beyond the scope of this site ??? Just wondering??? :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 511 Amount Saved: $280 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 16 Mins: 59 Seconds: 13

Hello My Darling,s The old bear is still in a bad space got a bad case of the nasty,s today. I swear to God washing machines eat socks.I have 47 single socks that don,t have mates. Since this is a nonsmoking site and not my personal site I thought I,d share some good news with you (no I did,nt win the lottery)but it seems the kid,s in Ontario are getting the message about not smoking. From 2000 to 2005 the percentage of males from age 12 to 19 smoking has dropped from 11% to 6%.Males 65+ has dropped from 11% to 8%.Males between the ages of 20 to 44 has dropped from 29 to 23%. The naughty boy,s are the one,s from 45 to 64 who have only managed to drop from 23 to 19% . The numbers are basically the same for females although women on the whole smoke a lot less than males ( I knew you were smarter ;p ) It,s another gloomy day here in good old Ontario but we do have some promises of good weather for the weekend ???? hope everybody has a great smoke free day :)

I've been in that same lost and shocked mood as well. I've been trying to pull out of it and go on with things but, I can't help but wallow in grief. Let's read and/or post and for God's sake, say prayers for the victim's families. Let's make a pact to occupy our time that way rather than smoking. I promise to go through this day and another tragedy, without smoking. Bear, Sorry that you are having a down day. If it helps any I have had such a heavy heart for 2 days now. The shooting at VA Tech hits very close to home for me. Its like I can't function, can't keep my mind off of the tragedy. This is a situation we all have to go through, but this to shall pass. Bear, don't forget to post when you are in this state of mind. Talking about it helps. I will be thinking of you today. Bear - I'm feeling very similar to you - I've felt kind of in a funk yesterday & today. Getting flooded with rain & then hearing all of the horrible stories about the shooting on the news...kind of puts one in a glum mood. But Bear, promise me one thing - when you go through rough patches, please post here if it would help! Don't stay away for fear of sounding negative or bringing other people down. We are all here for each other-- we take turns lifting each other up & being lifted! Hi Nance Nothing serious. It,s just things like what happened in Virginia really p--- me of. We have had shootings in school since the 1900,s In 5000 years of humanity we have had over 5000 wars. For what ??? I hate violence and I hate wars and it depresses me that after all this time we have,nt learned how to avoid them.

Bear, Down days may be part of the recovery process. Please don't revert to your old habits as a coping thing. You have come way to far. If you don't feel like posting, at least read, read, read. We all care about you!
