Italiana, I would go to the doctor since you have had the flu, you could have bronchitis or a touch of pleurisy, making it hard to breathe, and when that happened set off some panic with the shaking, antibotics will help if you have either. Trish

Hello Susanne, Thank you very much for both of your responses! I've never gone to the doctor for this before and would really like to avoid it. I've been reading through some of the posts and they are VERY helpful. I will make sure to check out all of the links. Thank you!

Hello Italiana, Welcome to the Panic Center. There are many people here who are living with and beating panic/anxiety. Be sure to make use of the tools on the left of your screen, take the anxiety test and bring the results to your Doctor, that way they will know exactly how you've been feeling. Keep posting on the support group, there are people there with a lot of knowledge and advice. We're here to help. Susanne

Hello Everyone, I haven't had any anxiety attacks for the past two weeks or so. It's been very relaxing! I usually get them 2-3 times a week pretty mild but know what they are so can easily handle them. Symptoms are usually chest pain and difficulty breathing. Last night around 4am I experienced what I think was an attack but I'm not sure. My friend was upstairs (college dorm) with me, just watching a movie, and I started feeling like I couldn't breathe so I asked him to leave. Right after he left I was gasping for air. Literally wheezing. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital but knowing the whole anxiety thing prayed it was that. I've had a bad flu for the past week, could that enhance an attack? Any ideas? I've had attacks where I feel that I can't breathe but this I was sitting in bed grasping for air. Lasted about an hour. Definitely the scariest experience of my life. Oh yeah, shaking too. I would love to hear if you've had an experience with this or if you think this is just anxiety. Knowing it's anxiety will kind of settle my mind. I'm really scared it'll happen again though. Any way of preventing such a massive attack? Thank you so much in advance, Nina
