Hi. I am 35 and have smoked since I was 16. I have wanted to quit before...and kinda did on several occasions. I have realized that I can't do this alone.
I work in the medical setting and should know that it isn't the healthy choice. It is hard to let go of something that is your one true vice...I don't drink, do drugs...just smoke.
Last night I came home to an email from one of my cousins. Her sister, my age, was just diagnosed this week with malignant lung cancer that has spread into her lymph nodes. This news has scared the you-know-what out of me and I haven't been able to even light one up without gagging. So, I haven't had one since last night. I have gone a day or 2 without one before, so, I don't know if this is normal or an actual step in the right direction.
Thanks,
Tiff
