Meant to post on the day, but extended a long weekend trip and didn't get home until late.
Rewarded myself (a bit early) by taking my son on a trip to the beach north of San Diego for three nights of camping. I was looking forward to it, to getting the "first long road trip and/or vacation as a non-smoker" under my belt, and I have to say it had to be one of the best trips ever. I can't believe how often I realized how horrible it would be to still smoke -- trying to light a cigarette with ocean-wet hands after boogie boarding, stubbing them out in the sand and collecting butts in a pile to throw away later, pulling over at rest areas to smoke during the drive. Ick!
And we all know that my son would have gotten shrieked at at least once during trip, when I needed a smoke; either me cutting boogie boarding short to go to shore to have one, or delaying a walk on the beach or stopping kite flying or *something*.
As it was, there wasn't argument or moment of bad feeling and it was a good time from start to finish. Even all the driving was a joy, which I was surprised to realize.
So, yay for 60 days! I'm looking forward to reaching 90 and 3 months!
