As many will tell you, Chantix is amazing stuff for those who can take it. It has worked just as it is supposed to for me. I can't say I've had any real side effects, and I haven't had any slips. I am on my final month of pills, and looking forward to completing the program. My quit hasn't been all that difficult. I have no doubt that I have quit smoking forever, and the chantix helped get me get past the hard part. Quitting really is a mental thing, and if you want to quit any method can help. But you have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. (I can understand that part now, but it didn't make much sense when I was a newbie.) I wasn't sure I could quit, and I wasn't truly sure I wanted to quit. I am glad I tried the Chantix, and equally glad that I found this site. That combination made me want to quit, and helped me with the mental thing. Words to live by? NOPE! and Brubakers post called Junkie Thinking, which is now posted on my refrigerator. Good luck to all. hon ee bear, as far as side effects, not bad. about day 3, cigarettes did not taste very good, it was like i was smoking an off brand. and by day 5 i do not think i smoked but 2 more cigarettes. i have been more tired than normal and at times kind of nauseous. i will take those 2 side effects over smokes any day!! stick with it. i have been trying to quit for about 2 years and this is the best i have ever felt about a quit. i think i was so tired and so ready to quit and chantix seems to be getting me over the hump. you go hon ee bear!! hang tough. barbara

Hon_ee_bear, If you'd like more information on the side effects of Chantix, please consult your pharmacist. He/she is the best authority to educate you on this topic and subsequently give you strategies on how to manage side effects. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Barbara, I am taking Chantix and it seems to be working for me. I had tried Zyban and Wellbutrin with no effect at all. I am on the last card of my started pack and my doctor said to take for atleast 3 months. This is the first time I have gone more than a couple hours without a cigarette. Glad to hear it is working for you and congratulations on your quit. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 351 Amount Saved: $110.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 10 Mins: 39 Seconds: 31

i have not posted here for quite a while, november i think. between november until the middle of march i think i had "quit" about 17 times!! kind of my m.o. Well i am happy to say that i am on day 27 and i am doing good. my doctor has prescribed the drug chantix to me and so far so good. i had tried to quit a few other ways including cold turkey but never got past 5 days so i wanted to share that with the group. also, i wanted to know if anyone else is taking or has taken chantix to stop. barbara
