Welcome bear. It is never to late to quit ! You are here for a reason and being a 40+ years smoker, make that former smoker, one of the best reasons I can give you is that smoking controls your life and it's time to take back that control. I would recommend that you go to the section titled Cravings and Withdrawal Symptoms and read the post on 25 Great Everyday Reasons To Quit. It was posted about a year and half ago and It really puts things into perspective. You made the right choice. We are here to support you. Good Luck. Bear If you are even looking at this site, then you must want to quit. And thats the best reason you can have! You need to quit for you and you alone. There are a ton of good reasons to quit 1. You'll smell better 2. You'll breath better 3. You'll live longer 4. Less chance for you to have a heart attack or other illnesses related to smoking But most important is that you are quitting for you. Its never too late to quit. If you need support try doing the program to the left of this page, it helped me to quit and I have been a smoker for 30+ years. You won't regret quitting. This is also the best place to come for advise and support. Everyone on this site is just terrific and they will be here for you 24/7. So good Luck and let us know how you are doing. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 491 Amount Saved: $95 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 1 Mins: 54 Seconds: 6

Well Bear, do you find this journey getting any easier yet???? Perhaps not quite as biting as it was in the beginning? You are working on your third week and that's awesome. Hi Bear..hope you are still doing o.k. Had a smoker visit today. Wanted, needed to go outside with him, but.. DIDN'T! That's the beauty of having choice. I CHOOSE NOT TO! Smokes don't tell me how to feel, don't tell me to get antsy when I'm flying, or to be sure to have enough before bedtime for the morning. The freedom is exquisite!
