Hi Bobbi......about Meridia, yes, it is perscription and I found out about it in the Dr Oz book Diet and You or some such. All his books are excellent and have You in the title. It's not like the old school diet pills that make you nervous and speedy. In fact, in some ways it works like an antidepressant and makes you really feel good. Ask your doctor for more information.
I'm sorry but I joined a gym (and went.....you can't just join), I walked two or three miles five times a week or more, I was really careful what I ate and still gained 20 pounds. There is research that suggests that quitting changes metabolism.
I have back issues so carrying around all that extra weight was hell. I've lost most of it in three months and exercise is easier....I'm now doing pilates, my posture has improved, and my back doesn't hurt so much. It's not just about how you look! I woryy what will happen when I quit taking the meds. We will see.
NOPE

Always check with your doctor before taking any medications, prescribed or over the counter. They know your history and can be of great assistance to you :)

Hey Bobbi, I was on the patch too. I just finished it 2 days ago. I have gained 10 lbs. I was not concerned about gaining weight. I knew it would likely happen, but quitting was more important to me.
It is easier to lose the weight over the long run so thats why I did it this way.
We have the whole summer to drop the pounds. I gained less weight than the last time I quit. Its all a matter of being a bit more careful about what you eat, adn now that it is nice, get outside and walk to lose the pounds!
Hope this helps! :)

Hi Bobbi here I saw you are on a diet pill called Meridia? is that presp.? I have such a fear of gainning weight with not smoking is so much harder to handle not smoking and weight gain, last time gainned 33 lbs. in 6 mo. was cold turkey, this time doing the patch and so far haven't gained anything, some have told me it is the nicotine that has kept my metabolisum reved?????
Thanks,
Bobbi
