Moss,
Glad I found one that hit home for you. As you see from this thread, there are many different successful approaches to using chantix. However, going the full 12 week course, or nearly so, seems to be necessary for many of us. Read through the literature that came with the meds to get a full understanding of the research results. If I remember correctly, when you tried to go cold turkey, it was very difficult for you. I think maybe you tried to go off the chantix too soon. These 12 weeks give your brain chemistry a chance to begin adjusting to the lack of nicotine, and your mind a chance to develop different responses to old familiar triggers. You're doing great, just hang in and keep posting. Soon you will truly feel like a nonsmoker. It takes some time.
