Hi Bungee I like you cut back before taking the plunge and then used the patch. Perhaps you may want to reduce to 5 smokes per day if possible, before setting a quit date. For your driving experience, take a tall bottle of water or case. I wish you a lot of luck with the cig reduction prior to quit. It is time that you did this quit; hang around and join in. Life is better and longer without those things! Bungee, Some quitters report fatigue once they quit. It can be brought on by your body healing and to a withdrawal affect of your quit as nicotine is a stimulant. If symptoms worsen or persist, consult your doctor. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Bungee, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on quitting! You've done a great job with your quit plan. Take advantage of our online quit compartment if you haven't already to help you. It is located in your glove compartment. Cutting back and practicing this new habit of not smoking is a great idea. Don't forget to reward yourself for your efforts. If you have any questions, we are always here to help. Keep us posted. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Bungee Welcome to SSC and congratulations on your decision to quit. You have already proved that you can do it - you have stopped for over a year so you can do this and what's more everyone here will be reminding you that you can. Preparation is good though you still have to step off the ledge at some point and with all your coping strategies that are your bungee rope you will be fine. Don't let cigarettes have a control over you - that's just a mind trick. Make a new decision that you will be in control. Come here often - you'll be grand. All the best Sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 442 Amount Saved: 118.36 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 14 Seconds: 38

bungee, Preparation is key so good on you for the careful planning. For the car, low fat snacks may also help - licorice, beef jerky, sunflower seeds. Also cleaning out your car really well might help to keep you on track. Driving was a tough trigger for me also. Have you given any thought to rewards? These are really important also, especially in the early days. It doesn't have to be expensive but something that is meaningful to you. Stay close and let us know how else we can help!
