bcky55, Welcome! You've made a tremendous decision and don't believe those that tell you quitting is impossible. It may not be easy but it is possible and it is one of the most rewarding things anyone can do. Check out the Hall of Fame link on the left to see tons of heavy smokers who have made it. Just go through all the steps in your glove compartment, stay close to this site and don't smoke. You CAN do this and you've come to the right place. bcky, Welcome and please don't be scared. We are always here to assist and help with knowledge and support. Our members know where you are coming from and can help :) You can definitely do this and we have had many members that have smoked as long as you and have quit successfully! Begin by preparing for this journey. Get rid of lighters, extra packs/cartons and ashtrays. Gather a list of coping mechanisms such as gum, candy, chew sticks and occupy your time with cleaning, exercising or activities. We are ready when you are :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
