It has been about a week without a cigarette and that is do to the fact that I am sick with a lung infection. I am sick of getting broncitis and pnemonia so I deceided to quit. Once I feel better will i crave a cigarette, because right now the thought of smoking makes me ill. How long does the craving take to exit the body?

Carebear, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on quitting! Cravings will be present for some time but they do decrease in frequency and intensity with time. Start preparing for them by going through our online quit program. It will help you put together a plan to tackle cravings and other triggers. Keep close.
