Nico, Don't beat yourself up. Okay? Depression and a Panic Disorder isn't a case of mind over matter. You can control it to a point with your mind, but if it's real severe, you do need the right combination of meds. You've already done the right thing by calling your doctor. Have you ever tried Lexapro for Depression and Panic? You hang in there, you will beat this thing, and eventually you'll even beat the panic attacks. Talk to me all you want about the attacks, I sort of pioneered them. LOL I've added your name to the instant messanger program just in case you want to talk. You can do this. You can be a Non Smoker and you can beat those panic attacks and depression to boot. You're own the right track by talking to your doctor. Nico You may find that this is easier than you think...I travel over 3400 miles a month doing my job and I too thought that I just would never over come the trigger of auto, driving, coffee and you know what...Well quess what it was in the end the easiest of all to defeat...Just stay in tune with your self and your desire to squash this thing at every turn...Remember that alot of it is theater of the mind...Nothing will be made better by smoking...I know you already know that, now rewire your brain through practice, practice, practice...Each victory is another link in the chain severed, each refusal to give in is another reason to keep giving up (smoking) and each time you take this thing down, it makes it more difficult for it to stand...When you are tempted remember the Stallone movie Rocky...When he was out classed and out gunned by Apollo Creed he gave himself over to the power of the superior fighter and won, because he could take any punch and blow that the big man could offer...You can do that too...Go ahead, "is that all you got", "that don't hurt" "That ain't nottin and I ain't going down... You can do this, use all of your immagination and heart and you will defeat it... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,498 Amount Saved: $434 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 14 Mins: 27 Seconds: 18

Nico My heart goes out to you in your struggle...I read your words and know full well that I cannot completely understand your situation, but I have a feeling for it in any case. Please don't give up...This addiction is very complex and it takes alot of self-knowledge and self- awareness to overcome...I wish I could just come over there and take it all away from you, but I can't do that and even if I could it would rob you of the journey that you must and can take. We are all thinking of you and sending you our hope and concern. I believe that each of us has a non-smoking self, we must find the will to awaken in us that which has been sleeping for so long. Do all you must to give yourself back to yourself, you do not need to smoke, it is the addiction that does not want to die, I want you to live. Step back take a deep breath, confer with your doctor and keep walking down this road with us...I promise you that eventually it will get better... nonic

One of the things that has helped me maintain this quit and will continue to do so is to believe that I am worth not giving up on myself. I'm not giving up on you!!! Never stop trying. One day you will find the key. Believe in yourself. Greg, focus on your strengths. List all the great things you have been able to do. Keep those forefront in your thoughts. At the same time, it's good to acknowledge your apprehension..."hello there, fear. I've got tools to push through this." It isn't wrong to be nervous or anxious, but it's a good thing to keep fighting even with those feelings. Remember Chantix or any other aid doesn't quit for you. You have to do the quitting yourself. And I know that you can do it! Don't look back...keep putting one foot in front of the other.
