Lots of Chantix users here, including me. If it's working, keep taking it. I had the same experience as you, and it gets even easier as the days go by. Keep reading and posting, that helps too! Lots of support! Heya Angel, You did a great job having to be around a smoker at break. You delt with that just right. Pat yourself on the back!!! Really drink lots and lots of water, okay? It helps with those cravings and flushes the poison out of your system. Drink more this weekend. ha ha ha ha Warn your family. ha ha ha I'm just messin' with ya. You'll do great and keep talking to us. Okay? Oh yea, thanks for the pointer. It does help to refer to yourself as a non smoker rather than a quitter. I like that one. Hi angelcapp, Another Chantix user here. Doing good so far 48 days and kicking ash. You will still feel a need to smoke but nothing like before. It is so much easier to just say NO!!!!!! Stick with the site and ask all the questions you want or need to. I do have one sugestion on cutting back. Keep a record of when, why, who you are with and the crave level. It will give you an idea of why you are smoking at that time. You will find out you won't have a reason alot of times except that you want to. Stay close and welcome to our family of non smokers Jnine My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 977 Amount Saved: $132 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 9 Mins: 16 Seconds: 5

Hi Karen and Good Morning! Like you, I tried several other products too, and I couldn't do it. The Chantix is working Karen! Cravings are mild, nothing you can't handle...compared to the other things. These will eventually go away too, I know...I quit for 10 yrs.(cold-turkey). Be patient and take lots of deep breaths. Make good use of the time while you are taking the Chantix to replace old smoking habits with non-smoking habits. Also, some of our members have stopped the Chantix and reports are good. They are still Quit. :)auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,971 Amount Saved: $280.25 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 9 Seconds: 34

Catlover - I'm also on Chantix & agree with Karen -- it's been extremely helpful (more so than I expected!). I haven't had any negative side effects - the only side effect is that my dreams are really vivid (it's a fun side effect!). But, I know that if you don't eat before taking it, it can make you feel sick. Have you noticed any changes in your smoking since taking it? At first I didn't notice a difference, but by the end of my 1st week I found that my cigarettes didn't taste as good/weren't as "enjoyable" and I was smoking slightly less. As advised, I stopped smoking completely on Day #8 of the Chantix, and haven't had one since (I'm on Day #10!!!). One more thing - you said "I enjoy smoking"...I have to "rib" you a little here.... Do you really enjoy stinking of smoke all of the time? Do you enjoy how your friends/family feel about your smoking? Do you enjoy spending your money on cigarettes? Do you enjoy the preoccupation with planning when you'll have your next smoke? Do you enjoy your house/apartment/car reeking of smoke? Do you enjoy having dull skin & hair? Do you enjoy yellow teeth? Do you enjoy coughing & hacking? Do you enjoy depriving yourself of oxygen? Do you enjoy the wrinkles developing around your mouth? Just wanted to make you think! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/24/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 296 Amount Saved: $58.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 59 Seconds: 43

Hi Karen, Welcome to SSC, I'm so happy that you found this site. I see that you have already been reading posts. In about 5 minutes it will be March 1, I'm glad that you have taken the time to prepare for your quit. I don't know anything about Chantix, I hope it really helps you. Stay strong and take one day at a time or sometimes 1 minute at a time.

Welcome Karen! I found having the SSC behind me made all the difference. You make friends here and share your journey to freedom together. Don't worry about previous failed quits - we have all been there. You just have to want to do it and understanding what is going on is much better. Cheers, Lizzie :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/23/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1406 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,099 Amount Saved: 6327 Life Gained: Days: 140 Hrs: 15 Mins: 50 Seconds: 12
