Sunshine, Thank you so much for the response. I really needed that inspirational message! I am going to try the wellbutrin and I don't know just hold my breath! My quit date is scheduled for 2/20. I will be in touch. I was wondering -- How much did you smoke and for how long? Jen

Jen, I was 30 years at 1.5 packs a day. 2/20, I'll be looking for you. Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,169 Amount Saved: $285 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 21 Mins: 33 Seconds: 24

I want to say hi and to say please stick with this quit. That is just too young to die, that's only a short time away for me and I can't imagine not being around for family stuff and all. Hang in there. Others more eloquent will add on, but welcome and don't go away. Debby, Welcome to the SSC! Please start working through our program. It will help you put together a plan to attack cravings & triggers. Boredom is a common trigger among quitters and distractions are the solutions. Think of all the time you wasted smoking. This is an opportunity for you to find new passions whether it be becoming more active or taking up new & old interests. Start small and work your way up. Let your distractions put some fun into your quit. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Debby, I saw your post on another thread and thought I would welcome you to SSC. Sunshine Debster 2/9/2007 1:59 PM Posts: 1 Joined: 2/9/2007 386026 Hi, My name is Debbi from Troy Michigan, Today is my first smoke free day after 37 years of abusing myself. I have quit before but boredom usually triggers a cigarette, or divorce. I am now on my own again and do not have to be accountable to a spouse so I have been smoking again. I have COPD (Chronic Obstrucive Pulmonary Disease) which is really aggrevated when I smoke. My mom died from emphysema at age 60, I am now 54-I have six years left so this time I better quit because I want to live longer than that. Plus, financially it costs me about $155.00 per month on cigarettes-I can't afford that. I use nicorette gum and it does help, but when I am home alone with nothing to do is when it is my toughest time. That is what I need help with.
