My Introduction/How it's worked for me.

17 years ago 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well I have just over 2 months and I had the obsession to smoke removed at about 40 days however I have been feeling run down and sinus headachey. I started coughing and decided to do some research to see if my cold like symptoms might be quitting related and am happy to see the posts on brown crud, etc.. I just started coughing, nothing to nasty, just a little phleghmy with a few black speckles. I tried everything to quit, including smoking with the patch on,nic gum in my mouth, and wellbutrin in my body. What worked for me was first detoxing from the chemicals in Malboro Lights and downgrading to additive free cigs for two weeks which I didn't like the taste anyway. Then one day my "natural cigarette" tasted bad, I got 15 days relapsed on 14 cigs in one night, 5 more days then 2 cigs, 5 more then 2 cigs, and none since Jan 5. Once I accepted to never have that first one, I've been free. So far so good. Thanks for this site. I'm really excited to find it and enjoy everyone's posts. I have never heard of the addictive free cigarettes, sounds worth a try,,, are you allowed to tell me what the name is ,,,, i would like to try them my last 5 days of smoking some and ease off little more, i try anything to make it easy ,,,, taking bupropion and chantiz together,,, dont advise anyone else to, just saying what i am trying and praying it helps me,,,,, quit day is the 18........ good luck on your successful quitting, stay smoke free it is well worth it, once you can kick the habit,,,

There is one type that is additive free and I tried quitting with them. They have nicotine and are harsh as the missing additives are what makes a cigarette smooth. The additives can contribute to the addiction but they are not the addiction. I grew use to the taste. We smokers are resilient we adjust. That is so sad but truly also very funny.I have heard of herbal cigarettes. They contain no tobacco but smell like skunk weed when burning and taste worse than they smell. There is also another one, comes in healthy flavors but they are now against the law to sell in the U.S. due to the child labor used to make them. Hate to be a downer here but nothing is safe to inhale into your lungs except oxygen. I have my doubts about that also but am willing to chance oxygen. Thats why I quit smoking. Think of it this way you love chocolate, chocolate wouldn't hurt you. Regular cigarettes have chocolate in them among so many other things that have a purpose that can be used to the good but smoking them isn't one of those "good" purposes. I'm not lecturing here because trust me I have no room to lecture any one should I even feel inclined. Every person makes their own trip their own way to the point they quit; its their right. I'm just stating some of my hard learned facts. Fact is folks you smoke or you don't. I don't but will always consider myself a smoker. It is just that I have chosen not to smoke today and pray I never will again. Wayno, Good for you for not quitting on quitting. Congrats on 64 days...be proud and keep up the great job. Having that positive attitude makes all the difference. Our bodies go through some amazing healing, but if you have symptoms that are severe or are concerning, you should see your doctor as smoking can mask any number of illensses. I'm right behind you at 41 days, have had no major withdrawls and no slips or setbacks, using generic zyban/wellbutrin. All the new people can see that every quit is different but quitting is possible for everyone. There are no "safe" cigarettes, folks! There are nicotine free smokes, that still contain the carcinogens that kill you...If you draw smoke (any kind of smoke) into your lungs, you are a smoker and subject to smoking related diseases. Just quit....completely!
