What's with week 4?

thanks all. Much better today. In fact I didn't even think about cigarettes today until I smelled that awful smell when one of my coworkers walked by. Had some exercise last night (that didn't involve an axe) even though I had to force myself to do it. The blah feeling is definitely strong right now, but I get that for a few weeks every winter anyway. I just find it funny that the blahs are interspersed with these moments of wanting to get rid of large amounts of energy all at once. Wish i was a runner, but I'm just not. I'm sure that won't be the last episode of frustration, but it's good to be on the other side of it now. I've been reading alot of the posts yesterday and today to keep me focussed. Why is it that the beginning of the 4th week seems really bad for alot of members? Yesterday was day 22 for me and it was hard. Today I still can't get my mind to work on anything. It isn't the heavy physical symptoms like the first few days, but serious mental problems. Just trying to understand what's happening here. I feel like I want to go out and dig a hole with an axe. Hey Stubborn, To be honest I still think you are in the very thick of your quit. It seems after 14 days or 'heck' week people think cravings will begin to substantially subside. Though each individual's quit is unique and under their control only I urge you to take a deep breath and remember why you are doing this and REWARD your progress thus far. It will get easier. Also, just a side note, I foung 3 weeks tough, as Casey suggested, but 3 months was a breeze- the day passed without much recognition. Anyway- Your frustration is totally normal and you are handling this well- despite what you may think. You are finally done with smoking- Little Nic is dying inside you, causing some strange and painfully uncomfortable symptoms but I promise they will pass. I haven't had a craving in weeks. And hey, If you want to dig a hole in the ground with an axe - GO FOR IT- just make sure to call that 800# to check for lines- as ong as it is not a family member or loved one you want to axe I think you are perfectly in control. Good job, congratulations on 22 days. NOPE ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 127 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,022 Amount Saved: $449.58 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 10 Mins: 36 Seconds: 15

Ahhh, the 30 day pit coming up. I was in that pit for 10 days. No motivation, felt very blah. No highs, no lows, just nothing. I really had no desire to smoke...I had no desire for anything. The thing about it was, I knew that this had been described by a lot of people as being part of the process. Everyday, I would tell myself that it would get better. I just needed to ride it out. It was like being on a roller coaster. Ride it out, I did. I am on the other side of the pit now, and feel really great that I came through that. Every hurdle we get over just makes us stronger. Ride it out.....hold on....I'll pull you out!!!!!
