Stillgotit,,,, Your intro, just reminded me of that scene on the subway platform in the movie 'Ghost' I am like the other comment as for me yes I wish to see 30 days as well I have noticed at work when I am at or towards the end of my shift that is when I get the craving of the day,,the worst part of my quitting is at work sometimes because I could smoke at anytime and that is part of my challenge as well At least I started to be smokefree when It was cold outside which makes you not want to go out to puff and shiver at the same time. Audrey thanks for the "vote of confidence" Yes I think you have to be mentally prepared to quit smoking and that's why I am doing it "cold turkey" -I just feel if I have to use "patches" or drugs to stop, that I would just be "replacing" one thing with another. Keep up your good work - I know how hard it is My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 365 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 20 Mins: 19 Seconds: 55

I'm a "old" man who finally got the message--QUIT and mean it. I smoked for about 50 years (if you can believe it). My steps to quitting have been quite long. First I bought a new car and promised that I wouldn't smoke in the car. Then I stopped smoking in the house, and now I've quit alltogether. Sometime during each day I crave a cigarette so much I can just "taste" it, but I keep telling myself that "I can do this". The only other time I have quit in my life is when I was in the hospital for over a month, and wasn't able to get up. I have read several of the postings on here and feel like it will help curb my cravings, by getting on line and chatting about it. I hope to see some of your comments soon, My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 365 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 20 Mins: 12 Seconds: 27

Texas Ivy Are you in Texas? I am! I'm near Dallas. I can't say it's been easy, but yep I do have 30 days under my belt, and you will too sooner than you think. Do you know how the instant messenger on this site works? Anybody? Keep up the good work Ivy stillgotit My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 365 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 20 Mins: 17 Seconds: 39

Anna, Yes I agree that being part of a team helps with the cravings.. I think when six months go by I'll put my savings into some unknown (new) penny stock and see what happens... Yes Sir, I am in Texas! I live in Humble, which is a burb in Northeast Houston. I, myself, have never used the instant messenger, so I am not sure how it works. So far quitting hasn't been to hard on me (knock on wood)... it is something that I really wanted to do, I have hated being a smoker for many years now. I was a 20 a day smoker ~ for the last 23 years. Hey Audrey I'm right there with you on the quit dates our meters are the same I remember when I first signed on as a new member you did also so glad we are both still here. I come on and read alot and post a little bit I find this website is so helpful and supportive. I've been walking every day and have started exercising a bit in the am takes up my old smoking time and makes me feel really good. Now I've got to start eating better as I know I've put on some weight and that is very depressing. I bought myself a scale and I am going to weigh myself once a week. Because when I weighed myself for the first time since I quit I was shocked I've never weighed that much in my life time to smarten up before it gets too out of control. Any advice on this would be appreciated Thanks Smokeless in Alberta :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 231 Amount Saved: $165 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 12 Seconds: 35
