OK...Day 3 harder than I thought. I stay at home with my two boys and work from home. I am doing the whole routine back from the holidays! My break from the computer and the boys was my smoke! I am having a hard time with that today! I want that smoke. I am doing the whole lollipop thing. Plus the fact I just cannot focus! Is there something I can do? HELP! Hi Mammaof2, I am on day 4, and today was my first day back to work since the holiday too. The hardest part of the day has been at the end of the work day. Being a closet smoker I can go all day smoke free but come 3 and I am ready to drive home with my smoke and coke. Guess what I made it home smoke free,and you want to know something else you can make it too. You want to be free of the addiction, keep doing the lollipop things or just give up and go to sleep. All you have to do is keep on making it through the day. Your 2 little ones dont want their mommy to be a smoker, hang in there stop trying to focus on not smoking and get busy focusing on your work. I also stay home and work. It is hard. I took crave by crave, hour by hour, day by day. Clean...a lot. that seemed to help. Something about the smell of the cleaners sort of killed the crave. Do lots of laundry. Anything you can't do while you smoke. Showers, baths, work outs. Stand in front of the tv and stretch. Big,deep breathes is a great way to work through a crave and as time goes you can feel more air getting into your lungs. Good luck and keep posting. Still make sure that you take a break. You need it. Make it something anti-smoking. Try to avoid smoking associations. Maybe even just taking a posting break for now, taking time to read or write a post here. Sometimes getting physical helps. Just know that a crave will pass whether or not you smoke a cigarette. The only difference being that if you smoke then you are going back to "go" if you beat the crave you move ahead two spaces. Let us keep hearing from you. Hi mammaof2 - Stay focused on why you Quit - and find some distractions. Read old posts here and you will find some powerful infor that will support the most successful quit... Just stay in the moment, and when times get tough change what you're doing - call a friend, walk around the block, and my favorite - CLEAN SOMETHING - I mean really hyper-clean something. A distraction is anything you can get lost in. Always remind yourself that craves only had the power we give them! Time passses and so does the crave... You're doing great - just hang in there! mamma, Keep it going and keep occupied! Save your reward or relaxation for when then go to bed or give them an activity to do that will take longer that 5 minutes and keep them still :) Enroll your children in to helping you clean, cook, bake and exercise.
