Thanks so much! I am so happy to have found this site I think this is what I need to quit! I like the quit Meter think that will be a big help for me. How are you all getting it in the post? Since I messed up and smoked today going to set my quit date for tomorrow! I am looking forward to seeing the day numbers go up on my meter what a great idea! How do I get the SSC Instant Messenger to work? I get the window but it is empty. :(

Hi I am Chrissy I joined this site in hopes of finding support with quiting smoking. I have been smoking since I was a kid its been about 25 years now. My Doc says I have to quit or I will have lung problems. I have tried to quit so many times now the longest I have lasted is maybe a week or so. It will be 4 years this March 07 that my hubby has quit I am so proud of him. I tried quitting with him but I started up again. Sure hope I meet some new friends here and this program will help me at last quit for good! I hate smoking its nasty and its making me sick. I smoke from one to two packs a day depending on what I am doing. I tried to quit yesterday and went the whole day with out smoking, today I have had two cigs :( Thanks

Thanks everyone for your support and prayers. I sure need them right now. Well I messed up again :( I have smoked 2 cigs today and its 5:14pm I am trying to hard but I am weak so weak :( I guess I should look at the bright side at least I am no longer smoking a whole pack a day. In the last few days I went from about 20 cigs a day to about 5 cigs a day

Chrissy, You can do it. You really can. I'm a former (as of 1/1/07) 30-year smoker. Tuesday was the first day in 30 years I had gone 24 hours without a cigarette. I'm on day 6. I know you can do it, too. Praying for you! this site is so helpful when quitting. I would have to say this has been the easiest quit i have ever done. The first couple days were really hard but after the first couple it is sooo much easier. Just keep posting and you will have the motivation. Hi Chrissy! I'd suggest first that you work the tools at the left side of the screen. It will help you fine tune your quit and discover ways to deal with triggers and cravings. Reading and posting here as often as you can will be a big help to you, as well. You can even do some research on the net to help you understand the nature of this addiction and habit and also help you get through the early days of quitting. This site is chock full of people to talk to and who will encourage you every step of the way!! We've all been where you're at and we understand...so please don't hesitate to ask for help or advice at any time!! Best wishes to you and welcome to the board!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 555 Amount Saved: $130 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 19 Seconds: 24
