Jame,
You are not alone! Oh my gosh, I think I could have wrote your post, word for word! I love food too, especially since giving up smokes. And I am also trying to count WW points. But it is too hard right now to focus on that too much. What I keep telling myself is that my quit is more important than losing weight. But I've got to stop gaining! Right! OK, so you are going to the gym? So am I! I have recently started lifting weights again. I used to a long time ago...then I stopped...long story, I'll save you the details of that one! But, the important thing is that I take time at least four days a week to get a good workout, including weight lifting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not pumping hundreds of pounds. Just enough to gain a little muscle mass. I figure I'm just getting started so it's ok if I don't see results right away. I think in another month or so things will start to look a lot better. In the meantime, if I really want that chocolate bar or ice cream or cookies, I'm going to let myself have it. After all, I'll have plenty of time to burn that off the next time I'm at the gym.
Good luck to you and remember, focus on the quit. :)
