As for the dreams, I quit CT and STILL had very vivid dreams, so I think that perhaps it's not necessarily the patch that causes these dreams, although I've been told that the patch tends to make them worse... but I experienced the same thing when quit Cold Turkey.
As for the snacking, surround yourself with healthy snacks. They don't have to JUST be carrots and celery sticks, although those are two very healthy snacks, but you can also throw in some other low calorie snacks as well. That should keep you from packing on too many pounds. Also, gum keeps your mouth working as well and doesn't give you too many calories from it. At the end of meals, try sticking in a piece of gum to retrain your brain that you're done eating. Others have used a piece of pepper-jack cheese or some other cheese with a bite to it to signify the end of a meal. Or, you could use a hard candy - they also have very few calories and keep your mouth busy. Do it after EVERY meal and never skip this step - before long, you will start craving the substitute instead of the cigarette. It's all a mind game and right now, you just have to retrain your brain and "trick" it into craving other things besides cigarettes.
Crave the Quit!
