Sunny, Welcome aboard and I'm so proud of you for realizing that you need to quit for the sake of you baby and for your own health. You've made a great decision and we're all here to support you and help you along. Yea, and don't be ashamed. You wouldn't have smoked at all if you weren't addicted. We are all addicted. So, we'll go from there. Read a lot on this site and ask as many questions as you need to ask. Okay? You're doing a great job with your quit. We're all here to help. Congratulations on changing your ways for your health and the health of your little-un! If and when it gets tough it may help to take the short goal of staying quit the next three months of your pregnancy. By the time you get there, you'll be ten days away from Century Beach and just too darned busy to smoke! Wish you the best & welcome. Hello my name is Sunny and I am going on three days of not smoking. I am six months pregnant. I am ashamed to admit that I have smoked through my pregnancy. I haven't been doing the work needed to quit. I am grateful that I have this web site and can post often. Thank you for letting me share. That was really hard to admit. The first part of any addiction is to eat humble pie. Another part is to realize the extent to which we have endangered ourselves and others to support the habit. Recognizing this is one of the first steps, then comes the action of doing something about it. I would hope that once you are able to work through any guilt you may have at this point, that you are able to celebrate the gigantic steps of progress you make as you take them. Basically, I wouldn't want your holding on to that guilt to be any kind of a wedge to sabbatoge your quit. As soon as you can - let that go. Becasue, hey, you've already got two days under your belt. That is a really big deal - I know what it took for me to get two days under my belt. Your gonna need this strength and pride to move on. Let's GO! Don't be too hard on yourself! What counts is that you have finally *arrived*, and what counts is from now on! I quit in September, made a major move in November. Due to an extremely stressful living arrangement for the first month of my move...I fell off the wagon! But, when I got my own place...I picked myself up, dusted it off and jumped back on the wagon! That's been almost 3 months ago! If at first you don't succeed...TRY, TRY AGAIN! Welcome Sunny! Lots of support and advice here, and the people are great, too! This is the best decision you'll ever make for yourself and your baby as well. Take this journey one crave at a time. Lots of deep breathing, water, relaxation(if you can), and post often. It really helps. Good luck to you, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,390 Amount Saved: $414 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 2 Seconds: 58
