into day three....

I totally agree Marg, determined, scared, but truly elated. When the reminders come on (I can't really call them craves, as I don't really want to smoke, just think about times I did, lucky maybe!) they do cause palpitations, but they do go away. Five minutes at a time reminds me of that movie 'what about Bob' ...I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 62 Amount Saved: 11 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 32 Seconds: 29

Hi Marg and everyone else, I'm on Day 4, and it's better than Day 3 was. Good luck to all of you. I haven't posted much the past two days, but have been trying to read. I think I posted a million times those first two days especially! My biggest problem today is adjusting my thinking... as in... time to go home---and have a cigarette--- no... not a cigarette. Time to go home. (period) I never smoked away from home... closet smoker. I don't want to start eating non-stop when I come home, so came here for my "treat" instead. I think it is why I've done as well as I have... this site. It's wonderful.

Hi Marg! I'm on day 3 right with you! It has been better today than yesterday. I was in such a terrible mood that I almost lost it with my boss... that would NOT have been good!! I thought I was going to make it through today with no trouble, but then, out of the blue, I had a battle with Nic, (the nicotine demon).. I came through it crying, but as a winner this round! :) I'm sure that I'm going to quit this time and that makes me strong when ol Nic comes around!! Hang in there... you'll get a lot of support from his group! -Rhonda (aka Crabby Lately) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 114 Amount Saved: $18 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 41 Seconds: 11

Hey Marg... Don't know about you, but I seem to be in "another world" all the time!! This morning on my way to work, I pulled out in front of a car causing it to lose control and almost crash!! I just can't seem to get myself together!! I'm doing ok not craving a cig, but I know that this is part of withdrawing from nicotine... I hope this ends soon.. it is about to drive me crazy!!! -Rhonda (aka Crabby Lately) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 133 Amount Saved: $24 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 3 Seconds: 47

Hi Everyone!!!! Each and every one of you are doing fantastic!! Congratulations!!! :) My first few days were a bit dicey and strange, too... but they really do pass and you really do start feeling "normal" again. It's great to be able to breathe deeply, smell, taste and have energy again!! You'll all find that out for yourselves soon enough!! Post often and let us know how you're doing!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 513 Amount Saved: $120 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 50 Seconds: 52

Hi I'm Gismo, My quit date also is 1/1. I'm going on day 4 now. It's starting to get easier. Last October(2005), I quit for two months after a triple by-pass. Unfortunately, it didn't last and I started smoking again. Stupid huh! My downfall was that I left a pack of cigs in the drawer. One day when I was having a really bad day, I reached for just one!!!. Well here I am today going through this again. I know better this time and threw them all out even the lighters. You can't smoke them if you don't have them. I know I can do this and this site is a wonderful place to get support. Good luck to everyone. This site is a good source of support and info. There is a history here of sharing. Read some of the old posts. Bump some up if you like 'em. Either way - you will get a wealth of information, support and the realization that you are not alone. Coughing is natural as you quit. Your lungs are getting rid of the build up. They're not used to real air. Welcome. We're pulling for you.
