Thank you for responding...Oh yes this whole thing is probably one of most worth while things I have ever done...It is a bit of a mind game as you know...I am slowly unwinding it synapse by synapse...When the negative thoughts come, I have a list of positive thoughts to replace every one of them that I can throw at myself...The best thing about fighting with yourself is you are cannot lose...I think it is helpful to have a good immagination as you go...I have to continually come up with images to replace the ghastly ones that I used to coat with a layer of nicotine and send back to the museum of my mind...
Well I can tell from your handle here that you have 2 very good reasons to carry this forward...You are doing so well, if they are not old enough to know what you are doing now, they will be very proud of you in the future.
Stay well

nonic - to me that is why this is so much more than just not sticking a cancer stick into your body, which is a crutch. In getting rid of it I could hobble along. But I choose to run. Before I run I have to learn how to walk and that is what is taking so long. That's OK by me b/c at least I'm moving forward and everyday the scenery is different.

Nonic,
Your words really spoke to me this morning. You are spot on with what you say, it's like you peeked in my head and saw how I felt. You are truly blessed with a gift to write so beautifully. And thank you for sharing it with me.

Nonic-
Thank for you writing this! I sure wish I had that knack of writing what I'm thinking!
You know- the easiest part of quitting is N.O.P.E. I found that the most difficult part was knowing and meeting myself. For most of us, we have spent more years smoking than not. And for some, the 'not' time was brief childhood years that are not easily remembered.
Trying to find our place in this world, and dealing with our world at the same time is what makes this journey exciting. Exhausting, but exciting! I really like just putting one foot in front of the other. It always gets me to where I want to be!
Take care of yourself, and enjoy this walk of life! It really is an awesome feeling to be free...............
