I'm quitting on Sunday, February 4th!

17 years ago 0 307 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Ive been through a slight flue, with a bad cough. Thinking of quitting, I came across the 'Stop Smoking Centre' site. I was kind of afraid so had my first day of quitting been shifted to the coming Sunday. Ive been smoking not more than 3-6 cigarettes per day, yet my dependency on cigarettes is quite high. Im keeping my fingers crossed while preparing myself for my big day, Sunday, February 4th!

Welcome. A good place to start is the workbook here. Read the old posts. And, I find my meter to be motivating. I think taking time to prepare a quit can be beneficial. Start thinking of coping mechanisms and back up plans now. Keep in touch. Mitri...Sunday is a great day! Do lots of prep work before then it really does help. It sure isn't easy but I think I have survived these 1st 7 days because of reading and preperation. Good luck and keep us posted as to your progress! welcome mitri, replace the "crossing your fingers" with resolve and committment to stay quit! Quitting has nothing to do with luck; only with a conscience decision not to smoke each day. Have you done the online program here at scc? Educate yourself before sunday about what to expect when you quit this addiction. There will be physical and mental cravings for your fix of nicotine..it is a powerful drug. But, you can be in control, that is the good news. I'll be thinking of you on Sunday. You can do it. Quitting is serious business, get serious about quitting :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/20/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 135 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,656 Amount Saved: $506.25 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 10 Mins: 2 Seconds: 33
