Quit day begins tomorrow

17 years ago 0 3 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I'm going to use the Commit lozenges. I've tried the patch before and ended up ripping it off after the 3rd day. I'm down to about 10 cigs per day and don't smoke all day. I'm hoping the nicotine lozenges will help in the evening when I smoke the most. I've got a list of things to do around the house, after work, so I can stay busy and resist the urge to sit in front of the tv and smoke. I can't take Zioban so the lozenges are a logical choice for me. Thanks for responding. Quitting can be a lonely proposition. My husband smokes and isn't will to quit right now so I'm going it alone.

I've chosen my quit day. It's tomorrow. Today, I'm going to remove the ashtrays, clean my car and get rid of all tobacco related items. This is hard. These stupid objects are a part of my daily life. This is the easy part, I guess. Tomorrow is the tough part. Wish me luck.

Hi smeltergal, Welcome aboard. If it helps at all, I found the day before my quit day was just as hard. You are taking the right steps and getting prepared. Remember one day at a time. I am only on day six, but it really does get easier everyday. Welcome smeltergal, Are you brave enough to go cold-turkey...Lol, or are you like the majority of us using something? You are at the right place at the right time to Quit once and for Good!!!! Stay tuned here and learn, read, and interact with us toward your goals, and any issues you have a hard time dealing with. We have all been in your shoes..."once"...the first 24-hrs I'm a 56 yr-old grandma and have just quit for the 2nd and final time. I quit once for 10 yr, then started back like a fool. I'm using Chantix this time...(cold-turkey was too hard for me to try again) I only wish this site had been around way back then.... auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,023 Amount Saved: $95 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 19 Mins: 40 Seconds: 10

smeltergal, My hubby smokes too...it's their choice. He is certainly being very supportive though, he tries very hard not to smoke in front of me.(he knows how much money we won't be spending...lol) Tell us about you and some of your goals. Use the tools on the left and post your stats for us...and you too! It's nice to see the minutes, hours, days add up...as we struggle to maintain our quits. It helps us build confidence too. Read, read, read the current postings and the past. You will find a vast resource of information from "Real...Ex-smokers" who have dealt with everything you are about to experience. And ...if by chance you don't find an answer to a question or need advice ...just ask...someone will respond. auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,025 Amount Saved: $95 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 19 Mins: 46 Seconds: 15

Smeltergal: Welcome aboard the non-smoking train! The more the merrier! You'll find this is a very merry place to be, especially when you feel you need a smile or a kind word. Go get 'em tomorrow and keep posting so we can follow how you're doing. You've made a very wise decision to take control over this addiction. You can do it! Keep the faith. Hi Smeltergal, Nice to have you join us. Good luck on your quit tomorrow. Have you looked over the quit program tools on the left here? This journey is a step by step thing. One minute at a time, then one hour, then one day at a time. Post often, it really helps. Keep us up to date on how you're making out.
