Hi Bullseye - Just wanted to check in on you today and see how you are - and it seems like you're doing great. Yesterday was my first day and it was hard for me too - my concentration was totally off and my boyfriend had to keep repeating things to me because things weren't making sense. Anyway, today is better for me and tomorrow will be better for you and everyday will be better for both of us! Congratulations Bullseye - I'm excited for you - as are a lot of other people! You're doing it! :)

Good Luck Bullseye! Don't be afraid. Now is the time - for the love of yourself, your family and all those who love you - you've gotta make that move to quit. I'm quitting today and I too started smoking young - 15 - and I've been smoking 18 years. I know, my coping mechanisms are all wrapped up w/smoking too. But I know that I can be and will be (and AM as I write) changing that - and you can do the same. Take one day at a time and be deeply proud of yourself for making such a bold move to better your life. Very Best of Luck to you. Hi Bulls!! I'm on day 19 of my quit. I'm also a Mommy of 3, 11, 5 and 5 months. Although I didn't quit during my pregancies with them I am now smoke-free for them!! Your children will love and respect you for doing this!! On a personel note: just in my 19 days quit my kids have seemed to have fewer runny noses, less cranky and sleep better at night, and I never smoked in my house ever. Maybe in my head but I think the disappearance of the second hand smoke off me is making a difference already in their health. You can do it!! Another personel piece of advice, think of something NOW that you will do when the kids get you all flustered whether it be a temper tantrum of defiance. I used to just pop out for a smoke when they got all wangy, now I hide and chew 5 pieces of sugar free gum, one piece per minute!! You go Mommy!!! You're doing it Bullseye!!!! Great!!! It will take time but I can honestly say that it DOES get easier and you'll think about it less. If you need any help just holler!!!! Like I said before I've got 3 kiddies myself and things can and have got overwhelming where I've had my coat and shoes on, kids bundled up (I live in Toronto, it's COLD!!!) and I've almost head out the door to buy a pack of smokes, but didn't. Take it one clean breath at a time. Kiss and hug your kids lots!! You can do this!! Hi Bullseye, actually I'm a Brit living in Las Vegas. You sound like you're doing really great. It is great to go somewhere and not have to worry if you have your cigs with you or where you can sneak out to have one. If I do get an urge to have a cig, I think of how far I'be come now and the freedom I have that by the time I'm talking myself out of it the urge has gone. Hang in there you are doing great!!!!

Hi Bullseye, I am on my 22nd day and I still get a bit light headed and dizzy and what helps me is to go have a nice bath or shower or a nap. I know it's hard when you have little ones. A good cup of tea has been helping me, now I'm addicted to bloody tea hahaha just kidding but it does help. Good luck to you my fellow Brit, stiff upper lip and all that rot :) you are now officialy a non-smoker. I didn't see myself like that when I first stopped until someone on here told me and it feels so great to say it, so keep saying that to yourself and keep coming back here often. We're rooting for you!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Bullseye, Been smoking...a long time....am 56...quit once for 10 yr, and started back in 1993(like a Fool). I'm a non-smoker now, though and you can be too!!! You are probably at... the best site on the inernet.. for support. Real "Ex-smokers" who have struggled with everything you are about to face can help guide you to a successful quit. Read the Posts, sign up and post often...comment and ask questions. It's never easy to give up a habit, it's even worse to admit you are an Addict. Once you see your smoking habit as an addiction and deal with it as such...you're on your way to being free from the addiction forever. We have a little nik-name for the smoking demon..."Nicodemon" :eg: He will eat at the core of your being, try to make you dishonest with yourself and tickle your taste buds with temptation of cravings that may eat at you for weeks or months. I feed my Nicodemon Bananas to shut him up...ha-ha I also suck on black licorice sticks I chew on straws when I'm on the phone (and used to when I was driving...I'm Ok now...don't need to). I drink a lot of water to ease my sore throat and help flush the toxins my lungs are getting rid of. here I go again...with a book...sorry...welcome to our site and good luck!!
