Its beautiful...

Hi, everyone. I'm talking about my quit, you know. And your quit, and your quit... Our quit. This has been a long year for me. I lost my stepmom to cancer this past April. My mately was diagnosed with colon cancer this last July. We're in the clear for now. They've found new spots on my oldest brother lungs and we're waiting to see where we will go from here. I have tried really hard to look for the good things. The beautiful things. Finding 0 inflamed lymph nodes on my mate was the best thing. Finding my quit again has been the next best thing. When I found out about Kathy, I went home and was on my knees, wondering why the hell it wasn't me. She never smoked. Has three beautiful kids and grandkids. Has tried really hard to take care of herself. There I was smoking my life away...and beginning to smoke even more. I have a beautiful life. I always have had. I just can't see it as often as I should. So, I want to try harder. To make the most of every bloomin' day. If I'm going to be on my knees again, I want it to be with our grandchildren! Today, I am an ex-smoker. I just think its beautiful. Sorry for the rambling. Its just whats been on my mind today. Everyday. Happy New Year everyone! Stay strong! And remember, you are all beautiful! :)Pat. Dear Pat, I was so moved by your words and the situations you have been through and going through. You are right on the money when it comes to looking deep inside for all the good things in your life. They, the good things are often right there in front of us but sometimes we just don't see them right off because we are so wrapped up in the negatives which surround us. I learned that about myself several times over in my life.. But hon, finally it occurs to you that you can't undo what has been done and we all must move forward and concentrate deeply on the blessings and the positives because that's what helps make us strong to get through the real hard times in life! You are doing such a wonderful job with your quit! Be proud and take it all one day at a time and remind yourself daily of all the good you have right there in front of you :) (((((((((((hugs))))))))))) Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,236 Amount Saved: $549 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 17 Mins: 52 Seconds: 57

Your big heart just pops out of your story Pat. Thanks for sharing. Quitting brings so many blessings, even if only for us to see blessings we already have more clearly. ttin, Thank you for sharing your story with us. Illness can be very hard to cope with but it seems to have pushed you in a good way. Now that you've quit smoking you'll have much more time to appreciate those beautiful things in your life. Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team
