To think about something different you must change you thought process. Think of places that give you peace. This of a child sleeping. Think of sunsets. Of just tell those thought to go th he##. The secret is changing your thinking. Yeah it amazing how much you notice people smoking, the butts on the ground, the coughing, the hacking, the smell :eg:. Now start thinking what a gift you are giving yourself and I am sure there are many. You can not expect a life time habit (addition) to change over night. Take baby steps and you will do fine. Just remind yourself "I am a non-smoker" My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 25 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 257 Amount Saved: $75 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 11 Mins: 26 Seconds: 40

Gismo, Everyone's quit is different. Quitting was all consuming for me as well and it was also the hardest thing I have ever done. It is the most rewarding thing as well. The feeling you have when you finally reach freedom is worth every bit of struggle. "When" is the magical question. It just happens. One day you wake up and a few hours later you realize you haven't even thought of smoking. That is a great day! Keep going and you will reach it. Eventually the thoughts are just a mere memory of something you "use" to do. It's a great feeling. Hang on until you get it. You will be amazed!
