Anatis, after re-reading your post, I agree with Mr. Ed, that you are still "missing" the cigarettes that do so much harm to you. You seem to think you have two choices...eating or smoking. Those aren't your only two choices. There are lots of other more productive things you could do to distance yourself from self-destructive behaviors. If you are a crafter, you could do a project. Read a book. Take a walk. Clean out the kitchen drawers. If you're going to be a successful quitter, you will need to understand, not just cognitively but deep in your heart, that cigarettes are not your friend. Anatis, A lot of mixed feelings regarding this coping mechanism. You have come so far and have done so well. The temptation is great, however, your association is not with the cigarette, but the flavor. Take the time to ease off using the actual cigarette and perhaps replacing it with a chew stick or another item.
