Hi Everybody! I am so happy to see you on this beautiful, virtual reality smoke free warm sunny day! (in reality, 20 degrees with a 40 mph wind really bites!) I am flying so high today that I may have to go parasailing off the deck! The word is out in this town that I have actually quit smoking, and everyone is praising me. I keep tootin' my horn that today ends my THIRD week smoke free! My old smokin' buddies are askin me about the Chantix and all of the other normal questions...I keep tellin' them that the aids are great, but you have to have support, and I have the BEST with you guys and the SSC. I can't imagine having made it through Hell week and Heck week without you. (Ya think maybe I can find another cutey patootie recruit?) Faith, look at those stats! 148 days!!! 5957 Cigs Not Smoked! 19 Days gained! Woooo Hoooo! You are my hero! Don't slow down, Lynne is right behind you with 131 days! You guys are AWESOME! Save some room at THE BEACH for the rest of us. Julie is out there (no pun intended) with her BIG 5-0 days! You go girlfriend!!!!! You are halfway to THE BEACH!!!!! Are you missin' your Dr P? We can't forget our 30-somethings: FreeMom, Pat, Rainie (aka Biker Chick Hootchie Mama!) and our beloved Capt. who have all passed the 1-month mark! You inspire the rest of us who are running as fast as we can to catch up. Can you guys see THE BEACH from there? Come on KyGirl and Nurse29, we have to pull our weight (in my case, a little more weight than last week, but that's another story). Let's just keep going...and going....and going...you know, pretend we are the Energizer Bunnies! Anybody got a drum? We'll meet them all at THE BEACH before you know it! WHERE IS PHIL? He's been quiet on board lately, he must be practicing for his big audition. "Phil, those stats are sure lookin' mighty fine...." (((blushing))) PHIL, IT'S TUESDAY, WHERE ARE YOU??? I had to pass through the smokers entrance this morning...I can't believe I actually went looking for second-hand smoke only a week or so ago. Clearly I was out of my mind...now I can smell it....and them.....yyyuuuuccccckkkkk! Breathing has gotten so much better! Sweetheart has become a great cheerleader, he says I even snore a little less...is that possible? Comp

Welcome back everyone! Guess we all had a busy weekend... No nascar race so Sweetheart and I stayed busy on Sunday...cleaning the basement and then channel surfing (well, he was). I remained smoke free, constantly reminding him of my cigs not smoked and how much money I have saved. As my reward, it appears we are taking the new boat and going fishing on our maiden voyage at the end of the month! Yippee! There will be no smoking on the boat! No ugly burn holes! No ash blowing back in my face! We'll be headed South to VA where it's (hopefully) warmer (since we will be camping). 'T will be another test around the campfire with a little liquid refreshment and no smokes. Hope he remembers to take a fire lighting apparatus, since all my lighters have been ditched (except one that was a special gift, hidden away). I spent part of the weekend downloading much of the great (?) music of the 50's and 60's - 160 songs or so thus far. Sweetheart has a BIG birthday this year (yes folks, he adds a zero) and I thought this music would be most appropriate to play during the party! If you have a favorite song that you think epitomizes the era, please let me know so I can d/l it in your honor! Nursey and hubby got moved in to the new place. Don't think they have Internet access yet...but soon. Nursey reports that she is still smoke free and in the middle of Heck week...but You Know Who isn't doing as well. He has cut down a lot, for what that's worth, and I don't think he is smoking when she is around. I am so ready to relax on the Rio beach...I need some sun and warm, ocean breezes! I hope that cute little waiter with the six-pack abs and the pretty drinks with the little umbrellas in the top comes by this way soon...I am parched! Party on, non-smokers, party on! Thanks Rainie, It was not an easy night, but I made it! I told all my friends that I have quit, and the smokers kind of sneaked out one or two at a time without letting me know. They are all being supportive, which helps also. As for the kids, I haven't heard from them...they are moving to a new place on Saturday and I know they are super busy. At least I hope that's the reason. LOL. Once they get their computers hooked back up I am sure they will be back. Am I onboard by myself this weekend? Faith, are you here? Is anybody home? Capt? Nursey and Hubby? Lady is busy, I understand that. Freemom, have you become a basket case? Save me some p'nut butter patties. Julie, are you checking in for the weekend? Kygirl, how are you doing? Lynne, you've been pretty quiet. Phil? IS ANYBODY GOING TO BE HERE????? Am I the only one who doesn't have a life???? LOL. Maybe I should go for a bike ride. Oh, I don't have a bike. Darn it. Have fun y'all, take care of yourselves, get the job done, and I'll be here when you get back. And I won't be smoking while you are gone! (Gotta love this Chantix) Mom My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 476 Amount Saved: $72.75 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 4 Mins: 27 Seconds: 14

Hi everyone, Tonight will be a test for me...I have to attend a viewing for a good friend who has passed on to a better life. I know I will be upset, and my usual coping mechanism was to go outside and grab a smoke with the other smokers. I won't be doing that tonight, so I'll let you know how I cope. It won't be deep breathing with all of the flowers around, carnations especially. (Maybe they will have chocolate available????) Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, my friends! Hey, I just realized that HECK week was over for me yesterday! YIPPEE! Today I feel really b**chy, and very small things are getting on my nerves! But never fear, I will not smoke! I will, however, get that Wellbutrin filled as quickly as possible. Rainie, sorry about the hootchie-cootchie thing. Shows how much I know! That's why I had kids! RIO?? EXCELLENT CHOICE! I'm with you on the shopping trip ladies, but I'm not sure about the boa..... Good morning everyone. Julie, congratulations on the exercise! I was at the doctor's last night (for a Chantix refill, along with a new Rx for Wellbutrin) and I should be exercising with you. Notice I said "should". A couple more weeks and about 30 degrees warmer and that word will change to "will". Now that I can actually walk and climb stairs (yes Capt, and talk while climbing) without huffing and puffing, I think walking will be my first exercise of choice. Sweetheart wants to ride bikes, but I am known to be accident prone. (I am no longer allowed on sleds, slip'n'slides, or to jump on the furniture with the kids. And he wants to put me on a bike????) Walking is MUCH safer to start. Rainie, good luck this weekend with Bike week. I hear those weeks are crazy! If you happen to meet Loli and hubby from Levittown PA, say hello for me. They go each year. I'll be with you in spirit...I'll be on your shoulder reminding you of your non-smoking days (and taking your picture in your tight leather cootchy mama outfit. You go, girl) Are you taking your laptop to keep us informed of your antics? I agree we need some shakin' up on this ship! Are we all so spoiled that we can't get out of our deck chairs, what with the great ports of call, wonderful sunshine, great people, cold drinks of all kinds, chocolate and great pastries, and the food is out of this world? I think when everyone gets back to the ship from wherever --work, family matters, bike weeks, etc. -- we should throw some kind of GREAT party. Did I hear that Phil is going to audition for us? YEEEEEEE HAAWWWW! I made it through heck week... down to two craves per day (3pm and 8pm most days) Dealing with it. Maybe the wellbutrin will help too. Will leave you with a song for Nurse29 and Hubby who want so badly to give me another grandchild..... "My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky LOL You get the idea. Thank you Tommy James and the Shondells! Have a great Wednesday all! Pat, hope you are soon back with us! Miss you lots! My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/20

Ooh all this partying and loud music is starting to give me a headache. Or maybe its the sound of all those colorful beads clicking together. Too much fun - I think I need some sleep. Great music today - I won't try to top it. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back in usual form and get my music groove on again. I did successfully ride out one of those monster roller-coaster type craves today/tonight. I feel so good cause I didn't give in. Now if I could just get some chocolate! ;p Goodnite Shipmates. I don't know Pat - I think I found those body curves you lost! LOL -I really have to start walking again. At least I got me and the girls out of the house today - did a few errands and got some fresh air. Feeling much better craving-wise today. Yesterday was rough but I survived! Mom-Mom congrats on finishing hell week. I had a rough time at the 7 day mark too, for what its worth. Ok, we need some music around here tonight. Time for me to stop slacking off. :8o: *** Freemom pauses to think of a good song for her shipmates *** Since so many people on these boards today and yesterday had rough times, I'm going to do a Beatles medley ... "Oh yeah, I'll tell you something I think you'll understand. When I say that something I want to hold your hand." "Help I need somebody, Help not just anybody. Help. When I was younger so much younger than today I never needed anybody's help in any way. Help me if you can I'm feeling down and I do appreciate your being round Help me get my feet back on the ground. Won't you please, please help me." "Chains, my baby's got me locked up in chains and they're not the kind that you can see. Oh these chains of (nicotine) gotta hold on me." *** To which Freemom says - NOT ANYMORE *** "You say yes, I say no. You say stop and I say go go go. I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello." Anyway. That's my contribution for now. Sorry - had to jump off quick. Kygirl - don't want to forget your celebration too. Great job. Maybe Faith can get some chocolate and vino for the occasion. (Any excuse for chocolate here!) Hope you all liked the Beatles medley - I love them (I know I'm a bit young for them at 40 - but my aunt introduced me to their music when I was young - she was a 60's wild child!) I'm sure I can come up with more lyrics tomorrow. Oh, time for American Idol. I hope the girls are better than the guys were last night!
