Thanks so much!!! Your responses really do help. My husband does smoke outside already so I don't have to be around it. Its just having the will power when I know that he is smoking outside not to join him. I haven't smoked for three days, and from what I can remember this is the longest that I have gone with out a smoke, since I started. I'm doing pretty good so far, however, I feel like a space cadet. The words that come out of my mouth shouldn't, and I don't realize it until its too late, or I lose track of the conversation and have no idea whats going on. But anyway...I don't think I would have lasted this long without this site. I have been reading others posts off and on through out the day since I joined and I find them very inspirational. My husband comes home for the weekend and he smokes...I'm a little nervous about how I'll handle it when I have access to cigerettes. Rusty that was a great thing that you could do -- quit while you had a smoker in the house, however it may not be that easy for anyone else. That was why I had suggested that maybe her hubby could help her through the withdrawal and craving phases, especially so early into her quit. Everyone gets through their quits on varying levels.. I commend you and applaude you on your ability to do it that way (with a smoker and also someone who was angry with you quitting).. but it may not be so easy for other's. Welcome Robyn :) All the feelings you are experiencing right now were exactly what I went through as well.. all perfectly normal. Keep reading the posts and be sure to use the tools to the left of this page. I must ask... Can your hubby possibly go outside to smoke or designate a room in your home to smoke? It's already so hard for you, so early in your quit, what with the withdrawals and the cravings why add one more thing - that one thing is huge! A SMOKER IN YOUR PRESENCE! Keep coming here and posting, letting us know how you're doing and if you need to rant, vent or simply wish to write down your feelings -- do it.. we're all here for you hon http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o304/Monica58/heart.gif[/IMG]][IMG]http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o304/Monica58/heart.gif[/IMG] Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 350 Amount Saved: $153 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 21 Mins: 54 Seconds: 42

Robyn, When your husband is smoking, take this opportunity to reward yourself for staying smoke free! Give yourself an alternative so you don't feel deprived. Keep strong. Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Robyn, you have done very well and you can stay on track when your husband comes home. My wife still smokes, and we work from home, 6 feet apart, she still smokes 2 packs-a-day. It was tough at first, but with the help of this site, a lot of hard candy, and some determination, it really doesn't bother me anymore. I have come to appriciate candles and air freshiner. When it gets tough, take long deep relaxing breaths. and remember, there is always someone on line here when you need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Robyn, just want you to know that I quit in the presence of a smoker. I didn't ask him to adjust anything other than not leaving his cigs laying around. He was angry that I quit so he was not amenable to helping me out anyway. So I pushed through to spite him and despite him, and as you can see I've got the stats to prove it. I think if you can quit with a smoker in the house, you can lift tall buildings with a single bound or anything else you put your mind to.
