7mg for me today...

HI Kaitilina, Congratulations to you! I'm in my first week with the patch, and gradually beating back the withdrawal symptoms. Did you have much trouble when the time came to drop to the next level? I was worried I'd have to cope with bad cravings all over again. Just wondering how it was for you. Thanks, have a great, smoke-free weekend! You're doing so good, Kaiti! I'm also using the patches and would be lost to this stupid addiction without them. I'm planning on going the whole program as I feel I should. I don't want to screw this up for myself. Reading about you stepping down succesfully is reassuring! Thanks for this post. Stay strong! :)Pat. Way to go, Kaitilina! You're that much closer to being nicotine free. You're doing so great. Keep the faith. Marg, I had NO problems dropping down....in fact, I went from 14mg to 21mg for one day on New Year's Eve (I was protecting my quit), and went back down to the 14mg the very next day with no problem. I just said to myself in the morning that I would start the lower dose..."ok, I might be a little more crankier today, and may actually crave a cig...be strong and you don't smoke". I am doing the 7mg today (1st day obviously), and I am having no problems, no meltdowns...nobody hurt. Marg, I loved my cigs!!! If I can do this...anyone can, and I'm enjoying life and doing everything I did when I was a smoker...just without stinking. Thanks Galah....I think the program only calls for the 2 weeks of 7mg...but the hubby....wanting desperately for this to be my final quit (extremely supportive), so he thought I should do three weeks with the 7mg.....what do you think? two or three weeks on 7mg? Hello my friends, Just an update that I'm down to the 7mg patch today, and not having any problems thus far... Hubby bought me three weeks worth, but I'm only going to do 2 weeks worth....and hold on to the third week for back up.....we always need back up! Stay strong all you newbies. It's not easy sometimes, but you can do it!!!! Congrats on dropping to the 7mgs - I think you will know at the end of 2 weeks if you need another week or not. Honestly, I didn't notice much difference between 7 mgs and nothing...the biggest challenge was in my head because I knew this was it - No nicotine in my bloodstream....and now I know that I don't need it either! Go Kait go!
