Hi Guy Thanks for your posts. The chilli idea is certainly interesting. . .!!! Not sure if I can really see it as a replacement for chocolate but I'll try to remember it when I'm in the middle of a crave :) I'm off out for a jog tonight. It hasn't got past the wholly painful experience yet. I was talking to a friend of mine who just took up running this year and actually completed the NY marathon a couple of weeks ago. She told me that it's tough to begin with - even horrible - but it will get easier. Does this sound familiar or what. Didn't have any chocolate yesterday but had a mueseli bar instead. Don't know how it compares calorie wise but I guess it has a little more nutrition in it. Water is something that I'm not good at remembering. I don't mind drinking it, I just forget about it. Best get to the water cooler. Anyway thanks for your support guys. Hi guys Well I've finally come here. Since quitting I have studiously avoided these pages becuase I thought 'If i'm giving up cigarettes I'm not giving up anything else. Chocolate is part of my coping strategy and as this quit thing is hard I'm gonna eat what I want So that's what I've done - I've eaten my way through the cravings and yes it's showing. I'm trying to combat this with exercise and I've started a couch to 5k running plan. So far so good and I think that I've started before things got too bad and I replaced one addiction with another. My diet is pretty good apart from having a bar of chocolate at least once per day. It feels excessive but I love it and it's like my daily reward for not smoking. Any advice? Sharon, Great idea to start the jogging! Check with your doctor to help you come up with an eating and exercise plan that is right for you :) Use those bars as a reward every couple of days and snack on low calorie foods and veggies with dip! Keep us in the loop and don't forget your water! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
