Why I don't Smoke

18 years ago 0 175 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi - I posted this to another thread but after I read it, it really meant something to me. I thought I'd share my sincere thoughts with new quitters or folks who are just having a bad day. This is what I think everytime I want to smoke... I think that if I take just one puff, for whatever lame reason that my pea-brain can come up with, I will be at a pack or two a day in less than a few days. At that point, I will decide to smoke the rest of my life, which should be over real soon because I will probaby die of a smoking-related heart attack or stroke in the next few years. Then I think that even if I survive the heart attack or stroke, I'll be dragging an oxygen tank around with me the rest of my miserable life. That's why I don't smoke. Because I'm an addict and that's where one more puff will take me. -- 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 471 Amount Saved: $88 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 18 Mins: 25 Seconds: 57

Printing this and putting it in my girls weekend bag...excellent post, Sometimes we just have to be honest. I forget about the stroke risk with smoking...I've been so focuesed on the lungs, and COPD and Lung Cancer...But a stroke can leave you disabled, in a wheel chair...drooling and wearing diapers. NOPE....not worth the puff!
