CBT is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. That is the kind of therapy you are receiving from this site. I went through this program with a therapist 3 years ago and it worked great. In my opinion it works MUCH better than psychotherapy in the treatment of panic/anxiety. I have finally made an appointment to see my doctor. I am wondering if, after 7+ years, Paxil has finally pooped out on me. I've heard that SSRIs do that after awhile. I'm willing to try something else. Laura

Hi all, I've had panic disorder for 8 years. It's been well under control for 3+ years, but this year has been a very stressful one and I've kind of broken down this December. I have had success with CBT in the past, so I thought I would give this a whirl (since I have been recommending it to people forever!) I'm thinking I might need my meds adjusted or something. I take Paxil 30mg daily, and Ativan 1mg as needed, which is usually never but this month... sigh. And I am experiencing depression also, which just might be a side-effect of not handling my anxiety well, but I'm not sure. Anyhow, I wanted to introduce myself. I see a few friends here already (hey shedav!) Laura
