Kaitilina, Been there. Done that. Somehow it makes me feel better that I wasn't the only one. But we must be really good at hiding because I never saw another mom out there smoking with me in the parking lot. Hang in there TonyS My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/19/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 21 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 210 Amount Saved: $105 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 22 Mins: 41 Seconds: 19

Hi TonyS :) The weekend might turn out to be easier than week days if you are not working and can choose your own activities. I suggest that you take it easy and relax. Stay in bed with a good book if you want to. Or, if you prefer, go shopping, visit friends, or do other normal activities. The only thing that will be different is that you have committed yourself to not smoking. If this means you will be around people who smoke, that's going to be fine too. Smoking is their business and their cigarettes will not jump from their pack to your hand unless you ask for one. Since you are not interested in smoking any more, you will do fine. If a tempting situation comes up, remember your commitment. Recite your affirmations for quitting, if you have made some, and repeat your pledge. It might surprise you to find how much these, your very own thoughts, can help you be strong. Temptations pass quickly if you have something in mind to think about while you are noticing them and letting them go. You are so strong to have been able to get through the first five days! You can get through the weekend too! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 700 Amount Saved: $115 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 2 Mins: 41 Seconds: 4

Spoil yourself a bit. Buy some stuff that you want that doesn't make you think of smoking. A nice meal or two, some books, a game, whatever. Also, excersize helped me a lot. Do something sort of mild once or twice a day. Just my thoughts as to what helps me. Wow, you got more than you bargained for, didn't you? I didn't have any where near the energy that Gonna and Imallclear obviously had, so I just sat around watching tv, but I had to keep my hands busy so I got a couple of new video games with lots of different games on them, card games and board games, and played them till I was cross eyed and then I ate and then I drank a bunch of water and then I played more video games, then I ate some more, and, well, you get the idea. But I have been rearranging furniture lately. And hubby said I could only do 1 rearrange per week in the bedroom, how dull! I've been thinking about getting back to cross stiching, I always loved that, and actually haven't done it in years. I found a lot of little kits while I was rearranging the closet. Or there's always crochet, good in the winter but the parrots keep flying away with my yarn and trying to make nests out of it. This is going to sound totally wacky to some people, but I get through the winter months after Christmas by "wintersowing" seeds, Keeps me busy, gives my garden a major headstart in the spring, and just feels good to be planting seeds in some earth in the dead of winter. For me, it's more of a lift that a tanning bed session. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,068 Amount Saved: $561 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 22 Mins: 34 Seconds: 6

I had a hard time the first couple weekends, nothing you can't handle, I read alot, rode my bike and just tried to keep busy. I didn't drink really at all in the beginning because I was so afraid of smoking.
