Good idea, Phil and Lynne. The weather here has been cold and rainy and I purposely didn't empty the ashtray in the back yard over the weekend. Each time I smoked I had to look at the pile of brown rainsoaked butts. Then I could really see all the crap and gunge that was going into me every time I smoked. Those yucky looking butts showed smoking for what it really was. NO MORE!!!! Just keep thinking i've come to far to quit quitting now. Even after 12 hours, thats a lot of hard work, why would you want to go back to it? Also the smell when you come home from being around smokers on your clothes is horrible! I don't want to smell like that again! Lets all do a one liner each with our top tip to help the newbies.. When you crave look at and smell a dirty ashtray not the clean crisp packet of smokes. When I wanted to smoke, I would take a deep breath - and remember how hard it was to do that when I smoked!!! Crave the Quit! When I think about smoking (actually, I never really do think about smoking as such, just get uncomfortable and/or cranky) I tot up all of the money I've saved. I'm a single parent to 2 girls and money has been really tight for many years. I used to go into the cheap supermarket and buy cheap food, ration the "treats" if any, that I got for the girls, then they'd stand and watch as I spent the small fortune that my habit was costing me. The guilt was utterly horrendous. And I don't thave that any more! Without a doubt this site has kept me honest. I do not want to smell like an ash tray. OMG the stench is awful, I like smelling like cherry blossems ;p Today I can look in the mirrow and say " I am a non-smoker :)." To say say that is so worth it.
