A huge SSC welcome to you, Ang. I'm from Canada too. Ontario. You definitely made the right decision coming here. There's so much advice and support, you can't help but succeed. Take this journey one day at a time. Keep posting here, and you'll see that we're all going through the same thing together. All the best to you, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 718 Amount Saved: $207 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 14 Mins: 40 Seconds: 4

Actually, both sites are here in Canada and are almost identical in nature. This site has more members, including people from other countries. From what I can tell, the other site is Canadian members. I belong to both and it really helps. Ang: So glad you have joined us! I never have found that energy burst to clean house...where did I miss that? You really need to connect with Duckie about teas. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Ang, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on three smoke free days! Take some time to observe your past routines. When did you smoke? why? where? how will you modify those old routines to exclude and replace your old habit? Ex: You use to have coffee and a cigarette first thing in the morning. Now you'll read the paper while drinking your coffee? Also try to identify other triggers that urged you to smoke and find ways to get around them. Ex: stress, anger, boredom, presence of other smokers and plan how to get around those too. Have a reward system in place. It should have three components: small one for after each craving, medium for the end of each smoke-free day and a bigger one for the end of each smoke-free week. Be sure to take advantage of our online quit program. It will teach you how to change your behavior! Lastly make a list of everything you hate about smoking and all the benefits you'll gain from your quit and carry it with you always. Hope this helps, good luck and check back soon. Members, Yes the SSC was developped by a company based in Canada but our program and other tools are available to anyone with an internet connection. Our members are from different parts of the world over! Jaset, Distractions have been helpful to many. It keeps both your hands and mind occupied. Do you have any unfinished projects? A hobby? Focus on just getting through the next hour. Once the hour is over, reward yourself! Then start the process over again. Keep persevering, Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
