Hey Monica! You are doing so well, and it's absolutely imperative that you continue taking care of yourself. Caregivers are notorious for not taking time for themselves, and then they get sick on top of everything else, so congrats for taking care of you! You deserve it! http://www.stopsmokingcenter.net/auxiliary/tools/default.aspx#quitmeter Monica, I THINK I copied the link right, hopefully, anyway. At any rate, if you go to the top of any page, look to your left, and it says "SSC Quit Meter" there. Click on that, and bobs your uncle. Or Carolines your aunt, or.... oh, well, you know... Monica You are doing soooooooooo well! I'm very glad you bought that perfume...you deserve it! Your Mom won't have to reward you every week...you have already saved $99. Please put your savings away and keep them for something special. Great job of dealing with the stress...you have an awesome attitude! Just got back from the weekend and wanted to welcome you to SCC, Monica....it DOES sound like you are off to a great start. You have joined a wonderful support community here. It's so important to have your tools available to help you get through those first few weeks (whatever works for you - water, green tea, sour candies, salty treats if you crave em, straws, short walks, etc) Rewards are also so important - everybody has different ones - some like bubble baths, window shopping, candles, new toothpaste, shopping, or saving toward something like a camera, etc. A reward is anything that makes you feel good (don't forget about them and do them often!) There are so many people to offer support and advice. Keep posting...we'll be here. Will be thinking of you and your hubby Windy My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/11/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 55 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,113 Amount Saved: $275 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 6 Mins: 51 Seconds: 52

Hi Monica So glad that you are taking some steps to take care of yourself. Not only is it important for your quit but especially important for you as a Caregiver. Keep up the good work and keep posting...you are doing wonderfully! Hi Monica So sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well....There have been lots of bugs going around. The first days of quitting can put a fair bit of stress on your body (make sure you take time to rest and take care of yourself) I think that depression can come from feeling like our lives are out of control. Quitting smoking is one way that we can take that back. First we have to get through hell week and heck week....but then we really need to figure out how you are going to take care of "YOU". (Is Community Care Access an option in Toronto - even for afew hours every once in a while) I am just throwing this out....I work with Caregivers and I know how hard people like you work to take care of other people...and how you always put yourself last. (So eventually I'm going to start harrassing you to take some time for yourself) But first things first. Rest..drink lots of water....Keep up the good quit...You are doing very well!
