Phil, I think you are 'there' Other symptoms of being 'there': You have not had an argument for at least half an hour. Your wife/husband/partner tells you ' I've got my old Phil/Mr Ed back' Your posts on the SSC no longer say: 'I do not feel good, BUT I WILL NOT SMOKE'. Because you do feel good. The act of smoking starts to look strange, like some habit of a bygone era. You look forward to the implementation of the smoking ban (July 2007 in England) You used to look at the light at the end of the tunnel. Now there is just light. And no tunnel. Stay on course And you'll feel no remorse This is a journey A horse can endorse :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 317 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,525 Amount Saved: 2377.5 Life Gained: Days: 52 Hrs: 22 Mins: 26 Seconds: 3

Your a Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Phil Congratulations on your smoke free christmas - I know it's your first in many years. Sounds like you've broken through the craving barrier and that is fantastic. you're finally there! but just remember....cravings come at the damnedest times....and usually out of nowhere? almost 5 years I haven't smoked...and the stress lately of taking care of my mother has made thoughts of it turn up. Not cravings or longings...not that I would consider or even want to smoke....but the thinking surfaces non the less. it's an addiction....and the use of it to solve problems will never quite leave us....or at least that seems to be the case for many. Don't ever let that thinking that just having ONE smoke would be ok??? cause I pretty well guarantee that "that" thought will surface at some point too. but back to the present....congratulations.....be sure to reward yourself in some way....and keep a firm grasp on the prize that you now hold.
