Golly Robyn, most of us gals would kill to be in a size 4! Make that a size 10! LOL
But seriously, you would have to gain more than 100 lbs to be as bad for you as smoking, and you certainly want the baby to be as nicotine free as possible from this point on, so choosing the cookies is by far the better choice.
But if you can, try to eat small, balanced meals more often. If you eat 5 or 6 small (ish) meals you won't be snacking on the really bad stuff so much. And if you cook to keep yourself busy, you can cook things like pot roast or pinto beans with ham or corned beef and cabbage; things that are meals in and of themselves that you can rapidly heat up. And cook enough to put some in the freezer in meal sized portions, then you can zap them rapidly in the microwave when you need a meal. Also, making your own beef or chicken jerky can be a great snack. They have dehydrators available now that are simple to use. That way you can put your own seasonings in and you know you aren't getting sneaky sugar and nitrites and preservatives and such.
All just little ways to cut the snacking on potato chips and cookies but honestly, you can't worry too much about the weight; what with the baby AND quitting smoking. Your hormones must be all over the place at this point, so try to be NICE to you.
