Hey NMC - Congrats on 11 weeks AND great coping skills. It's a good reminder never to put those tools too far away. CobenFan, I agree with you. In my humble opinion, every new quitter should practice deep breathing. It's one of many valuable tools we can use to overcome craving for cigarettes! :) - Breathing in SLOWLY through the nose ... Note the sensation in your nostril when the air is coming in ... and the expansion of the chest ... - Stop for 1-2 seconds. - Then, SLOWLY breathing out through the mouth ... Again, note the sensation in your mouth when the air is going out ... and the movement of your chest ... At times, the physical sensation from deep and slow breathing could be very relaxing and uplifting! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 770 Amount Saved: $385 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 7 Mins: 32 Seconds: 47

Day 76 ... I feel lousy! Craving for something more soothing, more comfortable ... Perhaps a cigarette? Yeah, one puff from the cig should be okay, wouldnt do any harm .... Right? Nah, I shouldnt do that! I dont need it. NOPE! Not One Puff Ever! Nicodemon, go away! :( I make myself a nice cup of coffee. Slowly drink it, enjoy its taste. Take few deep breaths ... Note and enjoy the sensations ... Breathing in ... Breathing out ... Still uncomfortable! Okay, take 2 puffs from the NRT inhaler, then few more deep breaths ... Breathing in ... Breathing out ... Ah! I feel better now! More relaxed and the joy is coming back ... Its getting better! :) Tomorrow is another day ... Will be 77 days or 11 weeks ... Not bad, heh? One day at a time, my friend! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 76 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 761 Amount Saved: $380 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 3 Mins: 14 Seconds: 45
