whats wrong with me

17 years ago 0 29 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
i am now sleeping a little better thank goodness i have now gone down to the 14 mgm patch. been on this for 3 days but i only wear it for about 10 to 12 hours as we all know forget any sleep if worn for bed. i have up and down days but today is driving me mad i wish i could sing as it would vent my feelings of anger and rage.this may sound daft but i feel like shouting or screaming better not as i will find myself in bother went swimming again today with my grandson it was great. as i was putting our clothes into the locker i could smell something awful but took no notice and went for a swim.got out of the baths all refreshed ,got dresses and got into the car to come home. again i got this awful smell but carried on driving chatting to my grandson. as i got grandson out of the car the smell was terrible ,looked at his shoes and they were covered in dog poo as was mine. that's not the end i had put his shoes on top of our clothes in the locker so our clothes were covered too. everything is now in the washer coats and all. that just about sums up my day ............ puts a smile on your face though doesn't it My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 498 Amount Saved: 121.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 22 Mins: 20 Seconds: 52

i feel crap. i am loosing lots of sleep. i keep waking up at about 3 am for no reason and find it hard to get back to sleep. i am a walking zombie at the moment.i hope this wears off. i had no cravings yesterday untill 12.30pm and that only lasted about 10 seconds. i thought fantastic its getting easier. then wham back to normal today thinking about ciggs and getting the craving feeling back. bl******dy addiction. one minute i am saying i will never smoke again (and i never want to )and the next i am nervous i may crack i woke up at 5.00am yesterday morning and just sobbed my heart out, why i do not know. i then went to work . was there 10 minutes and had to walk off and again sobbed. i spent all day with puffy eyes trying to act normal , but got through the day. again this morning i got up all upset but carried on preparing the sunday lunch. i feel ok now i think it has done me good to cry (sob) . it could be down to the loss of sleep or my body adjusting i do not know. tomorrow is another day..... cheers everyone My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/10/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 420 Amount Saved: 103.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 11 Mins: 19 Seconds: 2

Loved the poo story.....that was hilarious! Good thing your nose was working!!!! I have found that my son.....passes gas way more often then I ever knew....so some things I really don't want to smell, but most things smell heavenly! Right there with ya. It's 3:00 a.m. I finally got out of bed after lying awake for an hour. Usually I can return to sleep at the drop of a hat, even after multiple wakings in the night from the dogs, cat, kids, etc. Had a nightmare tonight. Guess what I'm doing right now? Reading posts. No, not reading posts - getting support. You do know to remove the patch before sleep, right? Also, are you on Wellbutrin, Zyban, or Chantrix? If not, it's probably not too late... if so, I would check with your physician about upping your doseage. Someone went to a lot of trouble inventing this stuff just so that people like us wouldn't end up in the looney bin -- God knows, I'm still one step away (but, then, I was before I started smoking, while I smoked, and still am... so maybe I'm just looney that way...) I really hope it gets better for you!! peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,773 Amount Saved: $192.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 5 Mins: 1 Seconds: 19

MMM A good night's sleep sound wonderful!! I'll be honest I have not had a decent night's sleep since I quit. The 1st couple days I realised I need to take the patch off when I sleep (I theorized, you dont smoke while you sleep). Still I awoke @ midnight or 1 or 2 AM, It seems to be after 4-5 hours sleep. And yeah. I couldn't get back to sleep. I have been on wellbutrin 2x's a day since I quit. I am backing off the nighttime dose (last night was 1st night). If that doesnt do it, I am going to talk to my doc. I'll let you know what happens. BTW, all I am going to stop spell/grammar checking every post I make...you can see what kind of stupor I REALLY am in..lol Signerd" llk;ldume dasd My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 599 Amount Saved: $133.4 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 5 Mins: 58 Seconds: 18

Hi Teen, A lot of what you are describing is still withdrawals. I know, you think you should be "done with that by now" but in truth, it does take some time to shed all the chemicals. If there are truly 3,000 chemicals in cigarettes, then you can imagine what your body is going through to get healthy now. So don't get too discouraged, but know (TRULY) that it does get better, each day, each week, it does indeed get better. Read some of the long timer's posts, they will show you that it is SO worth it, and you SO deserve the freedom! And there is absolutely nothing wrong with going to the doctor, just to be sure. Maybe they can even give you something that will help. Keep on kickin Ash! Hi Teen - I'm afraid that I didn't see your post sooner. I hope that things are going better for you. Most of us have felt like we were going off the deep end at certain points during our quit. You sound like you are grieving - which is normal - you have lost something that you thought was your friend. If the grief/depression don't go away, please talk to your Doctor. If they come and go, just remember to take good care of yourself (take naps, drink juice, go for walks - be your own best friend) Thinking of you....... Crying is linked to the anger we feel at the beginning of a quit, I reckon... I agree with Danielle - it's soooo important to get yourself down to the gym or a brisk walk, something to get rid of the negative energy. It will pass, but try to do something to help yourself get through this bit. Sending you a big bag of good vibes!
