No morning smoke- I feel lost - first day

17 years ago 0 47 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
None in the house or car. I will be taking the kids to playland. Hopefully I'll just keep driving right by everything that sells smokes. Worst part is, my hubby said this morning that I could smoke, and he's the one that always complained about it. It's my first day. Last night I did not sleep until 3:30 because of my cold. I woke up this morning and wanted my first one of the day. Obviously I didn't get it and I feel so lost. Like I can't start my day without it. The world is leaving me behind. Honestly, because I am so tired, I think I might have had one if they were in the house. I really loved my first cigarette of the day. And I really enjoyed relaxing outside to have it. But, guess what? there are bigger priorities in my life. That doesn't mean it's easy, that doesn't mean I'm dancing for joy yet. It just means that I'm not gonna. Hey Mom I'm a mom too. Sorry you are sick with a cold, but I can tell you having a smoke will make you feel much worse. I agree with Rusty. The addict in you is putting a negative twist on things. He wants to be fed. Try thinking about the postive things of smoking like: HEALTH WEALTH SELF RESPECT ENERGY SELF-CONFIDENCE PEACE OF MIND COURAGE SELF-ESTEEM TRANQUILITY FREEDOM Hoping you will drive by the gas station...how about...I WILL drive by the gas station. You can do this!!!! Take the money out of your wallet if you have to. Just like children, the addict in us wants us to pay attention. Stop thinking about the lies. Distract and move on. Don't give your thoughts any attention. Welcome to the SCC Post before you smoke. There are lot here will help you through. Good for you for not having them in the house. The only way to kick the addiction is to NOT SMOKE. If you do, you'll be right back where you started. Don't listen to the junkie talk in your head. Thoughts like "I can't start my day..." or "The world is leaving me behind..." are your addiction speaking to you and telling you lies. Don't believe the lies that tell you to smoke. If you feel lost, stay right here...we will help you understand where you are and how to cope. Read lots of posts and turn your thoughts into positive ones. Smoking is not an option anymore! find a substitute for that morning cig......get a face wash/mask treatment and slather it on first thing in the morning.....treat yourself to some flavored tea or coffee with a flavored creamer....or hot chocolate.....or a heated honey bun roll with some butter. STart a NEW morning ritual! The world isn't leaving YOU......YOU are leaving the junky....just keep the control and keep saying no.
