Congratulation BJ! I've quit many times, never made a year, though. You inspire me...as for the dreams, enjoy them. It's like a free rental! I have yet to have a dream, thank goodness, but I just wanted to stop in and say congrats on one full year!!!! That is really outstanding!!!! You and other long term quitter's have really shown a light on the path that us "newbies" are following. Thank you so much for your support! Last night I dreamt I found an unopened pack of cigs in an old suitcase and hid them in my office to smoke later. I woke up, fell back to sleep and dreamed I SMOKED it! Whoa.... I don't dream about smoking as often as I did at first, but I am curious about how long they last. I must admit, I may have 100+ days under my belt, but I do still think of smoking daily...not a crave, just passing thoughts. That is not meant to scare new quitters, as they cannot even compare to what you experience at first... .. I smoked 10 'in bed' the other night... Mrs Ed threw me out as I was setting fire to the sheets  Mr Ed :p sensible reply - yes I do too - seems to bear no relationship to any craving My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 329 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,889 Amount Saved: 2467.5 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 17 Mins: 12 Seconds: 30

Hey everyone! Well i just passed my 1 year anniversary and wouldn't you know i have a dream that seemed oh so real that I was smoking a cig and was hiding it so nobody I know would see. That dream has stuck with me for days now, almost as if the junkie thoughts are trying to get me to slip. I won't allow myself to slip cause thats just not an option, however I don't know why the demons are hovering over me. Has this happened to anyone else?? Oh yes....junky thinking will come around at ANY period....the trick is to learn how to squash it. Realize that you ARE a nicotine addict....as addicts we can never let down our guards....this doesn't mean that you will crave at regular intervals...maybe you won't think about smoking for another 2 years....but that old addiction still lies dormant in us.....and some things will make it try to rise to the surface. Turn from the thoughts....ignore the dreams....they are just that...only dreams. If you give the addiction even 1/100 of an inch, he will push and shove, dig and niggle....trying to take more....shut him down with distractions and positive thinking. and congratulations on that FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1830 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 73,223 Amount Saved: $10431 Life Gained: Days: 241 Hrs: 10 Mins: 9 Seconds: 33
